I live in a fairly stereotypical "small town America" type place...Main Street, apple pie and all. Two of the local towns put on a Halloween parades every year. They're very popular. The parade has a huge variety of things in it, fire trucks, people in custome and such. Everyone in the parade throws out candy. Pretty cool for the kids. It also has old cars, street rods, whatever. Having just bought my car a few months ago, I thought it would be cool to put the car in the parade. My kids would love to see Daddy in the parade. Since it's Halloween, I want to decorate the car.

The car is a '65 Olds Delta 88 sedan. Big 'ol boat. Bone stock. The decorations need to be easily removable without leaving marks, damage, whatever. I'd love to have fog coming out of the passenger compartment, but the 12V outlet in the car doesn't work, so that's not an option. Thoughts on decorating for Halloween? I'm going to be in costume too, depending on the cars' outfit.

Stuff the trunk full (leaving it partially open) with a bunch of blood stained hooker dressed mannequins. Stuff that backseat full of fake money bags. Then dress up like the mayor or governor.

There is a chance they might not approve that design...

Add some stick-on insignia, dress up in khakis with white scarfs and aviator helmets, and blast vintage big-band swing music:

Jumper box + AC inverter. Don't leave home w/o it.

About 15 dead hookers could fit in the trunk before it overflows. Kill 20 and fill her full.

I dressed out MINI Cooper as Superman for halloween once. made a superman S decal for the hood, and stuffed a cap in the hatchback so it was flapping in the breeze. Played the superman theme blaring over the stereo. Everyone LOVED it.

This too is what I thought and while looking for a clip I found this which is poor quality video but great execution.

This leads me to think you should make a giant removable cake that you can place over the Delta. It would be epic, just make sure that someone brings 10 thousand marbles.

A few years ago I threw a surprise 10th anniversary party for my wife. I had the town mayor come to our house and do a renewal of our vows. I guess I could do that and say I'm collecting "campaign funds".

Did anything interesting happen in your town in 1965? Maybe a banner on the side of the car announcing the opening of the new Westgate Shopping Center in June of 1965.

Dress as your father and go as "your father's Oldsmobile."
Sure, it is a bit obscure and that ad slogan is really not still relivent.
