Sorry to hear that your present from Tom got cold feet. Nancy, thanks for the yummy cake.

Sounds like she would have been a nice present!

It was hi-larious! David Brent levels of awkward.

    Happy birthday good buddy,

Never have I been so relived to have been rejected. Getting a "special birthday" dance in front of co-workers is like watching a porno with your parents in the room!

Not to say the sentiment wasn't appreciated. Good friends always know just what you want on your birthday!

It would have been epic. Funny that 100 bucks will buy you real jailtime, but not a semi-nude birthday serenade.

[shakes fist] Next year, Gearin. Next year!

We want pics, or it never happened.

    Oh, and Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday fellow Jan 27-er. I left more elaborate greetings on the Edsel road trip thread.

Tomorrow (because it's too late today), I am re-upping my subscription after a number of years buying the mag at the newsstand. I stopped subscribing because mail delivery was either late or not at all (absolutely NOT GRM's fault). Now I live in Glendale so it's time to see if mail delivery is better here than Hollywood.

Glad to see there is a real Aquarium running the joint.

Sorry I couldn't be there, being in the final stages of my own special road trip. Always willing to take one for the team, Joe is, of course, the first of the staffers to hit 40 while in confinement. (actually, I may be wrong, I have to check for sure when I get back). At any rate, he's the first of the longtimers to roll over the four-oh, to be followed in rapid succession by me, then next year by David and Per.

I guess what I'm saying is that you should probably prepare for our pages to become and ink and paper documentation of several midlife crises at once. I anticipate lots of ads for Viagra and hair replacement therapies, and someone will probably get a Corvette. Oh, wait...
