nope... more or less I was saying what 02pilot said... the camera you will get the best pics with is the one you will use... these days phones are capturing some amazing things because they are carried and used...
I would like to pick up a small PnS to carry when I don't have my dSLR... might look into that come income tax time...
but anyway... I think I posted this earlier but take a peek... don't take his word as gospel but he's got some good info (skip down past the SLRs to the PnS)

that being said... if you want to shoot action (kids moving) or things in low light where a flash isn't permitted you'll want an SLR... but if you leave the camera at home in the drawer because it's to bulky you'll get far better pics with something you'll carry with you ;-)
