Got my box today from RedGT. I'll get pics tomorrow. There was a lot of stuff in the box. My wife found it on the porch when she got home from work and mentioned it was pretty heavy for its size. Lots of interesting things in the box. A cool, hot wheels Datsun fairlady 2000,a cool flyin miata cam tool I believe, zippo lighter, small battery trickle charger, Ford Taurus/Tempo shop manual, and loads of stickers!! One in particular I thought was pretty cool. It is a large Lucas oil sticker that I am going to give to my oldest son, whose name is Lucas. I still feel like my box I sent out will pale in comparison.

My box is on it's way out! Should be a really good one, I had a lot of garage stuff for cars I don't own anymore/never bought, lol.

My apologies to Tim from Portland.  Box will go out on 12/28.

And by 12/28 I really mean 12/29.  Headed to Post Office at 1PM today.

And i received my box yesterday from Daylan.  I will open it and report on contents later today.  :-)

Did I do that bad or...?

You did great, kid!  I just need an online photo host that doesn't want to auto-upload every image on my phone.  I can't figure out Flickr.

I got my box today. Thanks MTN! I have been out of town for a few days (visiting Robbie) and others and haven't made it to the Post Office for a flat rate box yet. It WILL happen Monday (or likely Tuesday as I am not sure they are open on New Year's Day.) Here is the haul. Lots of cool stuff and a few VERY random things. This is the first time I have ever receive meat (or fish) in the mail.

The notes were the best part. I am going to have to do this in my package too.

Is that a valve spring compressor in the middle there? If so, it looks like a pretty nifty one.

Bummer that the trophies broke, apparently my packing skills suck.

Woody, that is a valve spring compressor for a flat head Ford. Someone gave it to me at a garage sale, and I'll never use it so I thought it'd be a cool give away.

That was certainly one of the things I was really into upon opening the package. I love antique tools! Thanks

Also, I loath locking lug nuts. There may be some ritual sacrifice on those.

Mine went out today! Should arrive 1/2.

Minor rant: how do companies ship stuff to me for so cheap? I had more volume than a flat rate box would take (but not two), so I packed my own ex-amazon box. 2 day shipping was $52 and 7 day cheapest option was $47. Two large flat rates would've been $37.

There is currently a sprocket I am looking at buying on eBay currently for $26 and it has free shipping (FROM GERMANY). How can someone ship me something from Germany for literally half of what it costs me to send a box a few states over?

Got mine two days ago but didn't open it yet as penance for not shipping mine out yet.

Apologies to the gentleman in the great state of <redacted>, your box was shipped out first thing this morning and I was informed it won't actually go out until Tuesday. Bleh. Box should be there by the end of the week.

I was so excited I forgot to include one crucial item; a single wiggly eye. I hope this oversight does not inconvenience you in any great manner.

And Robbie, while I don' have the answer, the way I play this game is to get the box first and make stuff fit. Then I know it's $13.68 or $17.whatever, no matter what. No fifty dollar shock.

Finally, a moment to myself!  Let me start by thanking Daylan C. for the box of goodies!

as received.

top layer.

not sure if that instruction is for him or me...

zip ties!  God's gift to the DIY'er!

Trans Am center caps!  TIL that they are handed.  More later.

another TA center cap and some "Romantic Piano" music for next time I'm trying to get SWMBO into the car for a quick trip to Bonertown.

Garage gloves color-matched to the center caps and the Romantic Piano cassette.  And they know sign language!

Too Metal For One Hand!

oh E36 M3, the Check Engine light is on!  What a cluster!

motorcycle horn?  Looks cool, I'll do something with it someday.

fuse puller!  berkeley yeah!  They are missing from all my cars, so this goes into the E60 right away!

tail light from old motorcycle license plate mount?

drill chart and another pocket note pad

I know what it is but not what it's from..

three nerf darts, three interstate stink bugs, one Dodge truck "trim plate".  I know it's a trim plate because nobody would remove and ship one of those other plates.  For the record, the outer stink bugs were already dead and the center one was quite lethargic.  I am pleased to report that my impromptu stink bug in a snow bank at 10 *F test has been a success.  Two have remained dead, and the third quickly progressed from lethargic to dead.  All three are maintaining their current state of deadness.

Warlock!  berkeley yeah!  Way cooler than the Little Red Wagon!  And in the "It's a Small World After All" category, my wife was a manufacturer's rep in the children's toy world for many years, and Johnny Lightning was one of her product lines!

O2 sensor

Plus some other random goodies including:

18c and a pen from a payday loan place.  Remember, always use payday loans responsibly.

And the crowning jewel of the lot:

The Motherberkeleying Intimidator!  This banner is about 30" x 48" and is made of 100% American chest hair and 110 octane leaded gas!  I have to move some things around in the garage so this can go up on the wall, but it's definitely going to happen when the weather warms up.

Thanks again,  Daylan C!

I don't understand how shipping costs are worked out either.  Your price on the large flat rate boxes sounds in line with what I paid- $18 and change for standard delivery or whatever it is.

In reply to AngryCorvair :

The idiot light cluster and trim plate both came from an '81 Monaco Executive Class A RV. The horn and tail light were both random yard sale grabs. And the bugs were actually news to me. They must have been hiding in the stuff I pulled off of shelves in the garage without even dusting them off. And more realization that I need to pay more attention, I never noticed the heads facing different directions on the center caps either. This means the center caps on my GTA must have 4 different part numbers because I'm pretty sure they are different heights to go with the different offset wheels too. O2 sensor is from when I thought was going to keep TBI on my now sold '91 Olds Bravada.

I got an awesome surprise in the mail yesterday from EvanB.  Since I have lost no less than three photo hosts since this time last year, and Because I stink at photo hosting.....here's a gallery.... Sorry  Box had lots of cool stuff. Son number one ran off with the flashlight and hat. I have managed to reclaim the flash light but the hat is claimed.

List of awesomeness

Ball Hat (taipan)  claimed by son number one,

set of LED headlight bulbs,

a whole mess of flap disks, cut off, wire and, grinder wheels.

A metric step bit (so cool),

Battery cable terminal covers,

Electrical tape,

three pairs of safety glasses,

Two razor cutters (possibly seat belt ?) SWMBO tried to claim them ,

self cutting tie wraps (how did I not know about these sooner?) ,

adhesive tie wrap mounts,

one leather glove ( maybe for snake handling???) ,

3/8 compact air ratchet,

box of nice nitrile gloves,

LED Pencil flash light.

Thank you much... Once again awesome haul.

Glad you liked it. We purge old product samples at work at the end of the year so I saved some that seemed useful. The cutters are for opening boxes but I guess they could be used for seat belts. I was only sent one glove as a sample instead of a pair, I never could figure out what to do with it.

A very large, cool box arrived yesterday from Batmobile Jones in Kissimmee Florida. More on this later...

Inside I found: two copies of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, a movie made by deaf people, two lanyard mounted shot glasses, a laptop bag, a Wookie mug, some Disney crap, a few stickers, a bungee cord, one brand new brake pad, some kind of small speaker, a little electric motor, a bag of pointy metal things that are either javelin points or the ends of tripod legs, a side marker light and a 36mm impact socket. I immediately recognized the socket as 36mm, as I had to buy one about a week and a half ago.

...and carefully gift wrapped in a plastic Walmart bag were four Hot Wheels cars, including two Porsches and a Woody.

Well played.

However...far and away the best part of this whole deal was the box it all rode in on; carefully hand lettered and decorated by a true artistic genius.

Absolutely brilliant work.

Ordinarily, this would have been the odds-on favorite for the coveted GRM Box of the Year award. Unfortunately, the rules clearly state "in a Flat Rate Box", which of course, this is not. The judges had no choice but to disqualify you from the competition. Sorry dude...
