Here is a real American Hero - Bob Hope.

I defy you to watch this and not have a tear come to your eye.

Didn't think I'd end up watching the whole thing. I usually don't when someone posts a video link on here. This one I did. ::Sniff::

Bob Hope was born in London, England and came here in 1908. And we ain't giving him back. They don't come any better. One of the few gentlemen you don't hear anything bad about.

Bob Hope was the wealthiest entertainer...that is, had made more money total, than anyone else in show business, until well into the sixties. Just some trivia. Lived to be 100, did he not? Apparently, a very fine person.

It's amazing how popular he was and for how long. it just goes to show you that genuine is the way to lasting success.

That is presuming you are a good individual to begin with.

My Father will tell a story of when he was in Viet Nam, they blocked his group from going to one of the shows.

If you ever saw the movie "apocolypse now" that was were my father was (without the weird ending). The "River rats" were not exactly welcome on base.

Thanks for posting that vid. Definitely made the eyes well up.

He was probably one of the last great entertainers. I can't really think of anyone nowadays that can entertain like Bob Hope did.

I got to see his Christmas show in Saudia Arabia during Desert Storm in 1990. King Fahd Airbase - 101st.
