made it home on Wednesday after sucking the hospital WiFi bandwidth dry via my phone once I holding it on my chest wasn't incredibly painful. I awoke to a pretty spectacular surprise Tuesday and a new friend for life. They found that the tumor on my liver had shrunk (holy cap the dietary restrictions really do serve a function) from 3.1cm down to 1.7cm over the 2 and a half weeks prior to surgery. This was a big deal as it enabled my liver to be bicected opposed to receiving the transplant. When I awoke last Tuesday in the room adjacent to me was a kind grateful young man, Mark, who had received the liver that was originally intended for me. He'll likely end up on here in the coming weeks as his opinions on miatas has been completed changed. I find out on the 25th how everything looks and we'll be going from there regarding treatment. Pain is getting manageable now. Being home is nice, I'm missing real food though. I'm thankful that all the dietary restrictions paid off though, for myself and to help save a friend who I hadn't yet met.

Glad to hear it. Keep up the fight.
It's also nice to hear that you are still preaching the Miata gospel while cheating death.

You'll be much better off keeping half the OEM part than going with the generic parts store replacement. CONGRATS!!

In reply to TRoglodyte:

I'm on it, thanks for the headsup, great time of the year for one. My wife has to take credit for preparing meals that meet the dietary restrictions and effectively shut down the pancreas and liver as much as possible. Apparently in doing, in about 20% of cases, you can starve the cancer out. Not completely, but enough to hopefully get it confined enough to better the odds of getting it all in surgery. And save OEM parts in the process . Outlook wise this made a huge difference, I was headed to a dark place, but the turn of events has made me realize that I still do have some control, and always did, even if it felt like I didn't. The efforts saving another patient's life has also eliminated any feelings of survivors guilt, which had also started to set in a bit. And I have a new friend to talk to about things other than being sick, which helps me feel human again and not as if I'm just biding time. All of which makes me FEEL HEALTHIER, my energy is up, even with difficulty in sleeping, I feel that my brain is firing on all cylinders, and I'm able to think long term again.
