My 9 year old and I will be in Ocala on March 23rd for a kart race at the track.
I have been told that the Howard Johnson's and Comfort Suites by the track are not in the best part of town (high crime, drugs, etc). So, I'm trying to figure out where to stay.
Looks like there's a group of hotels IH-75 and 200. There's a Courtyard, a La Quinta, a Hampton, etc.
Is it a safer area?

They are better to my knowledge.
There's a hotel across the street from Big Daddy's museum. Kinda pricey if I recall. Think it was a Marriott, but you are right across the street from the greatest drag racer that ever lived. Museum is way cool as well.
I work with a lot of people from Ocala so I'll try to remember to ask tomorrow.
