I've thought for some time that a small tablet running TunerStudio would be an awesome dash board. Replace all gauges with the tuner studio interface.

Uhh, no, they have all kinds of things that will plug into an ipad, ipod or iphone. From blood pressure monitors to yes even an OBD2 plug.
Yep, using the camera adapter kit, you get a USB port. If you jailbreak the iPad you can then use the adapter as a USB device.

Radness! How cool to have a cheap, configurable, digital dash. As a bonus, the tuning tool is also always with the car. Droid tablets are cheap enough that dedicating one to the task doesn't seem out of line, and with a car charger, it can stay installed in the car. I LOVE this.
Next, to find someone doing a dedicated dash GUI, complete with dummy lights, shift lights, etc.
Anyone know what the refresh rate of that setup is yet?
I have my 8" Vizio Vtab next to me right now and this is giving me awesome ideas.
The last car I fully outfitted with gauges, (only the basics really) I spent close to $700 on them. Seeing as tablets are half that, and hold much greater capabilities, this seems a no brainer.

Shouldn't be too difficult - the Android API is robust and free - I think it will need additional signal processing via micro with analog inputs to be really useful. That way you can use any sending unit.
