I have two Kenyan-born cousins. They're as white as you can be when you're from Africa, but it can be rather amusing to state they're African-American.
There is one thing I've been finding a bit confusing the term Indian - now that there's a substantial number of Indian Indians in the US, it's a little ambiguous whether stating someone is Indian means they are from India or related to the people who were here before Columbus.
