I'm quite happy the NBA is on strike, because hockey is getting a little more exposure.

In reply to donalson: The screaming is all part of the game.....and at the amateur level, drinking on the ice while you're playing is nice.

Last I followed the NBA Larry Byrd was playing, strike is no berkeleyin' big deal to me. The only downside I can remotely fathom is the decrease in our brethern car guy businesses at the car, truck and SUV pimpin' shops.

Yeah I do too. Always gets me when they talk about their team with "we", like they were on the field with them. And where I live it's only 2 teams, Alabama and Auburn. No other teams exist. Around here a mixed marriage is when an Alabama person marries a Auburn person. Had a guy come down and all he talked about was football and asked another guy and I what we think about football. We asked him what this football thing is. He looked at us and walked away and hasn't been back around.
Being retired military and a bunch of us around work, that is probably the only thing I understand.

Have noticed though that TV has seemed to make up for lack of NBA with college basketball, both male and female.

In general, I find "serious sports fans" to be highly annoying. I mean, it's a game, you know that right? You spend 3 hours talking about every nuance of the first half, quarter, period, or inning of a game and 3 minutes about your kids and the problems/sucesses they are having in school? Wow.

I agree. I'd rather follow Mtn Biking or other edge sports

wow, surprised at the football hate.

I'm with Brett on the "what NBA? more hockey!!!"

also, the screaming for curling is better when it's foreign chicks with accents or using a different language.

I know exactly how you feel. The Alabama Auburn thing gets a bit old.

It's been such bliss being able to watch Sportscenter on ESPN without all the "highlights" of NBA slam dunks and commentary. Oh well, guess I'll have to find something else to flip to during those sessions. I love football, baseball, hockey, racing, but I don't watch a single second of basketball.

Oh, that orange round ball sport. Don't watch it here.

Keep the NHL and MLB and you can loose the rest. I could even live without those two to be honest but SWMBO likes 'em

The only BB there is ever on here is UK and whoever they are playing normally. I do watch some Spartans tho if they are on.

Every time the somebody mentions Spartans, I think of either this or 300.
