Your renting and just decided to put a dish on the top of a property that you don't own. Did you "forget" to ask permission from the owner of the property? I wouldn't let you have it either if I wanted to keep my property historically accurate. Why did you not ask permission. It would have avoided all these problems.

Hmmm I do leather work as well...though I have not gotten into home hide tanning. Though around here it would be easy to get hides with all the hunters and knowing my neighbors they would actually be into helping me with it lol. Well except those on the other side of the street.
I live in a funny area where you have older homes on one side (nothing newer than built in the 60's or 70's) and then across the street is a new development that just got put in over the last 3 or so years. The people that live on the opposite sides of the street are VERY different kinds of people. My side is mostly rednecks and older folks and the other side is mostly younger and more yuppie wanna bes. I can fit 4 of their lots on my property and still have room for my 1500 sq foot shop and my lot is one of the smaller ones on our side.

In reply to pilotbraden: OSHA, fire dept, EPA, homeland security(joke) would be all over the property if you did that. There's a REALLY STRONG reason tanneries were located AWAY from village centers/towns. They make paper mills smell sweet!

But, seriously, mounting the dish on aforementioned moveable pole would not make it a permanent addition to the property/building. I think you've got a really got shot with that approach. If not, welcome to being a slave to Comcast.

I'd jump ship. Unless the house is a good enough deal to make up for the cable. But yeah, I have to agree. As a renter you probably should have checked the rules first, regardless of what was on the house already. Still, the real monster here are insane HOA.

Ever been to Morroco? The tanneries are centuries old, and often in the center of town. The primary fluid used to cure them is camel urine..
