Are you talking about a vehicle or a girlfriend?

I prefer my girlfriends lithe, refined, high maintanence, and unreliable. Torque is a plus, but highly wound seems to be the norm.

I had some guy in Autozone get on my case at the parts counter for "Not supporting your country by buying american." I mean... what? Did you think i was old enough to buy my 1992 Celica GT brand new? Back in 1992?

If i go out and buy an American car today, it'll be a 1g Neon or another Escort GT. How is that going to help the Big Three?

It won't. But keeping old cars running sure helps Auto Zone, and Napa, and every other parts store in town. You would think that anybody who got his paycheck from Autozone would want to encourage you to keep your 16 year old car.

That thought definitely went through my head, too.... Although to be honest i usually don't get much from them, but i'm in there often enough between the three cars that most of them know me by name. That particular day i bought brake calipers all around for my car. $160+tax. (before the lecture on autozone calipers that i seem to get everywhere else... for my car, if i get reman calipers from autozone, they're actually rebuilt toyota calipers for some reason.)

My area is full of "good old boys," though. They eat, drink, sleep, and talk good old red blooded "Uhmurikkin" trucks wth confederate flags.

We're talking about AutoZone employees that make $7.50/hr. My wife got the code read on her 00 Accentwith 160k miles. P0422 catalyst issue, something I already knew about, but have put off because the light wasn't on. He proceeded to tell her that it wa teh gas from Sam's Club that had "too much Carbon content. " No lie. I guess he even said it with a straight face.
