If you’re sick of seeing election-results maps, let’s look at a more important map, one that can influence the path our lives take from this day forward.
This map outlines the laws behind owning a Kangaroo in the United States.

Here is another important map, the states in yellow are where it is legal to have a pet raccoon.

Wisconsin, South Carolina, and West Virginia  are looking promising right about now....

Officer: "Do you have a permit for that 'roo? How about a concealed carry permit for that raccoon in its pouch?"

I'm going to request that this thread be locked, as a baby kangaroo is known as a Joey.

***I'm 100% kidding in this post do NOT take it seriously or get upset or butthurt about it, I just have no humorous maps to share***

I actually await a map regarding states that will register and tag a vehicle without a safety inspection, more without a vin, as long as there is a safety inspection or bill of sale (think home brew creation or kit car).

No safety inspection in California.......

But , smog check every 2 years ( sometimes every year) 1976 or newer,

and maybe a brake and light inspection  if you bring a junk car back  on the road ,

And I have some racoons and possums for adoption  ,  or BBQ  .......

Seems like Wisconsin, West Virginia, and South Carolina are the only truly free states left. #theycanprymyroofrommycolddeadhands

Also if we're going to compare animals as pets. Raccoons are awesome until the hit puberty, if you get them spayed or neutered, they stay awesome. I've always felt there's a very fine line between the type of person who will keep a raccoon as a pet versus the type that will eat one as a meal. Before anyone passes judgment on that statement, pigs are much the same. Roos are pretty much out of control shiny happy people. They are a bit like whitetail deer, that punch, for fun.

I live in PA.  I wonder what bureau I would go to for a Permit to procure a Kangaroo.  The Marsupial Court?  Possibly the DMV... the Department of Marsupial Validation?

Edit:  Figured it out... I would have to go to the Roo-gistrar's office.

Curtis, if we ever meet, I'll either buy you a beer or kick you in the shin. Haven't decided yet.

I still can't find an application for a Kangaroo Permit in Texas.

Is it State or County.

This needs to be renamed the "Can we please stop posting ridiculous maps?" thread so the trend continues.

Clearly, if anything were meant to be called a kangaroo court...

I figure you were just making that joke implicitly without giving in to the direct route, but I felt like Roger Rabbit left hanging at "Shave and a haircut..."

My local grocery store serves alchohol but you have to stay in the small cafe area.  A walking around beer while shopping would be great.
