Depends on the car. Lewis Grizzard said he had a Vega that he hated so much that he did the same thing. Problem was it would never start so he would hide in the bushes with a set of jumper cables. Finally a guy tried to steal it, it wouldn't start, he jumped out with the cables to help him and the guy said 'no thanks'.

+1 on that, my truck got hit back when i was in college, then they came back about 3 weeks later, about 5 days after the ins. company replaced the previous stereo that had been stolen. after that, i convinced the ins. co. to spend a little more money and buy me a detatchable face radio. they came back again in another 3 weeks, broke the window but got nothing since i had removed the faceplate.
