    Po-ta-to, poh-tah-to.

As I said (and you did too but with different wording, er, terminology), they quit focusing on cars and instead focused on units. That way lies failure.

If GRM quits focusing on the subscribers as people who have wants and needs and instead (as the big car mags do/did), focus strictly on shoving the largest number of 'units' (magazines) out the pipeline just to make the numbers look big, it'll go down in flames.

I think we're talking about the same thing. The focus on solely moving units, product or whatever is what leads to diluting the product. Over the last 20 years, the car companies that have shifted their focus to moving units vs. overall profit and/or customer retention have been the ones that have suffered the most. They focus on the number sold and decide that the only way to increase it is to cut costs, and usually from the most important places.

I don't see it as one or the other. I see it as cause and effect.

I read half of the first paragraph, and it reinforced my understanding that Moore is a half-retarded blowhard who doesn't even BEGIN to grasp the subjects he rants about.

not entirely. I believe they focused on too much short term means to increase margin.

I believe his greatest benefit is that he gets people to think about subjects that they normally wouldn't. And that is a good thing.

Unfortunately a lot of people lump all the green people with him and disregard most of what all of them say. He and Al Gore have done a lot of damage to the environmental movement. I no longer listen to their brand of BS any more.

Yeah, between Moore, Gore and the Sierra Club's Dave Foreman the enviro movement looks like a bunch of wackos.

You do have to admit-finding out Rush was on Oxycontin was very amusing.

Yeah, it's a lot like finding out Al Gore flew a private jet across country to give a speech on reducing our carbon foot print. They have both proved they are hypocrites.

One standing on the left, the other on the right screaming at the top of their lungs. Us in the middle saying WTF.

The guy who decided what pain meds we should take when I was in Rehab had this sticker on his cart

Even funnier was seeing the comparison between 'Mr Environment' Gore's Tennessee mansion and 'Mr Bad for the Environment' Bush's Crawford ranch house.

Couldn't agree more. Seems to get air time you have to be far to one side or the other though. So goes the business of entertainment/politics.

Maybe I am missing something here but I think the problem comes down to spending more than you make. If you produce $100 product and can only sell it for $99, then problem would appear to be self explanatory.
