Stewart or Montoya would be the most obvious bet.

I bet that's enough dinero to make Jeff Gordon (ex-sprint-car) and Alain Prost (has mostly faded from memory - but still races, still wins...) think about it.

I'd bet on somebody with the last name Swindell.

don't think Jeff's up to it anymore.. really don't expect to see him still racing in 5 yrs... his back is so bad he almost missed a race last yr.....

If Tony Stewart can still fit in an IRL car, I'll put my money on him. I'm convinced he could win in any form of motorsport that he tried. It's a shame he has no F1 ambitions...I'd pay to see that. He'd wreck a bunch, but then he'd start winning.

As the NASCAR set likes to use the term 'road course ringers' to describe drivers outside of their regular series, gotta wonder if 'oval ringers' will apply to the outside series of drivers vying for the Indycar Vegas race.

He didn't wreck too much in the IRL, and managed to win a championship while he was there

The Busch brothers are from Vegas, which could make Kyle think about pulling this coup in his hometown.

Valentino Rossi has said more than once that he'd like to do more car racing. He even tested an F1 car once I believe.

Also, I just read that Indycar will actually set up a special test session for those committed in advance of the race, which should make it even more attractive...
