    I think it could be done with a rotary as well,but maybe not as cool looking unless you took the front cover,and plate off to reveal the rotor in its housing.

    Very cool idea, although the corners of the acrylic top could be very painful to your shin...

    I like it as apposed to a V8 table. Especially when you see it can still move some parts.

    Gonna have to watch for a free engine on craigslist now.

    Also: Tempered glass > acrylic or Lexan. Otherwise, that E36 M3 will be all scratched up in a month. And a round top would save the legs, and wouldn't have to be adjusted constantly to sit square.

    Doods. It has stainless steel casters. Of course those are worth $1000 apiece.

    He must be related to the guy who claimed on his website to hold "Exclusive worldwide patent rights in perpetuity" to the idea of building table lamps using crankshafts as the upright.
