Just heard on BBC news, that the last Yugo rolls of the line tomorrow. The company has been bought by Fiat. (At least I think they said Yugo...either that or Trabant....big diff)

That's a damn shame. Last of the proper old-school, fun-to-drive econoboxes?
You can still buy a new Peugeot 504 in South Africa, I believe, but they're not cheap.

Huh, so Fiat licensed the 128 to Yugo and now they are buying it back? Weird....

The original news story was kind of short, plus I was only half listening, but I would guess Fiat is buying out Yugo to get a cheap, already built to Fiat-specs, factory.
As others here pointed out, I had no idea the Yugo was still being sold/built.
