It is with great sorrow that I bid farewell to my friend, "Big Red". Yes, after over 355,000 miles of flawless service, my beloved Dodge has moved on to another owner. I'm sure your as saddened by this as I am, but alas, the time has come to allow Red to bring a spark of joy to another owners heart.

On the other hand, Tina was absolutely overjoyed. When I told her it was leaving she said "I just gotta watch in drive away!" and ran to the window to watch him chug down the street for the last time. Flowers can be sent to my home, donations can be made to me personally or via paypal ;)

sounds like Big Red still had lots of life left. Why did you get rid of your truck?

And is it just me.. or are trucks the ONLY thing that Chrysler makes that last a decent amount of time?

I just didn't need it enough to justify it. I am trying to reduce my car count since times are tough money-wise. And yeah, I think they are the only things that chrysler makes that last a long time, well and the Jeeps (I'm not sure about the new ones). Of all the cars I've every owned, that one gave me the least about of trouble. The only thing I did to it that I'd consider a repair and not maintenance was the fuel pump. It crapped out a few weeks back but I still make it home. It did need a few electrical gremlins looked at but other than that, what a truck!

My Cummins Dodge, Jeeps Cherokees, and Plymouth Laser Turbo all lasted a real long time. I totaled the Plymouth at 190k, but the 99 Cherokee and diesel truck are still going strong.

It was hard for me to part with my Dodge truck a few years back. Interestingly enough, her name was also Big Red. My Plymouth Voyager Turbo has lasted a long time and led a hard life before I got her.

I had a 96 Dodge Ram that I bought new. I had three transmissions put in it in the first 70k miles. each time the trans went, I was pulling a trailer and more then 100 miles from home. All the trailers were well under the load that the truck should have been able to handle. I will always have a full size pick up, I will never have another Dodge truck.

They built them right during those years didn't they?

I think Chuck Norris drove a Ramcharger of that same type in "Lone Wolf McQuade".

You and ol'Chuck are on the same wavelength truck-wise.
