Okay, not so major, but the film I was in is now 3 for 3 in festival awards.

We took the audience award at the Broad Humor film festival (showcasing female directors) in Venice, CA a couple weeks ago, where we beat out all of the features and shorts presented for the award. We also grabbed an honorable mention at the LA Movie Awards (which, admittedly, is not first prize, but that was probably the most big-whoop festival we've been in yet, Samuel L. Jackson and one of the non-Alec Baldwins also won stuff). And we also nabbed an Indie Award of Merit from the Indiefest festival.

Next up are some pretty major festivals overseas (Ireland, UK, South Africa and a few others which escape me). In the fall, we should be doing several in the states again, and if there's any within driving distance I'll definitely try to make it for panel discussions and such. Feel free to come mock me if I end up in a theater near you.

I guess the bottom line is it looks like we'll at least go to DVD and PPV at some point at the very least. We're still hoping for at least some non-festival theatrical play, but so many stars have to align for that to happen for any non-studio film that we're not holding our breaths.

Oh, and there's a trailer finally! I don't get any face time, but I have some sweet VO action right toward the middle. You can check it out at the imdb page.

Because movie time is a lot like geological time. We actually shot last summer. Principal photography took all of three days, and the entire thing (save for a rough outline of the narrative) was improvised. Basically it was a bunch of folks from the central Florida improv community all doing their thing.

Actually, if any of you were at the Amelia Island Concours and stopped by our booth, you met the driving force behind the whole project:

Hillary Walker was the writer and director, as well as one (well, technically two) of the performers. And she was also one of our booth babes at Amelia. She's one of my favorite people to perform with. Actually, she was also in several of the commercials on our digital edition.

Not sure if we're in Germany at all at this point. I know we applied to some festivals there, though.

At any rate, the way things are looking by Thanksgiving we should have some idea of what actual distribution will be like. Apparently there's already real offers for straight to DVD/PPV/Streaming on the table, we're just hoping for a little theater action.

As the late summer festivals get scheduled, though, I'll let everyone know where they can see it. It would be a big help if you went to see it at a festival and talked loudly through the whole thing about how you'd love to see it in a regular theater. You can even call your friends during the movie and tell them. The distributors in attendance really appreciate that kind of input.

Just found out we're in the Central Florida Film Festival on Labor Day weekend in Orlando. Got my fingers crossed the judges have a soft spot for locals.
