My best friend since I was 7 years old has passed on. Mom fed her this morning, she begged at the table, dad gave her toast. Mom let her outside (we never tie her up), she went to the house behind us to look for food, to the house next door, and laid down and started to go. Our neighbor called us to tell us something wasn't right, mom and I rushed over and she was going. We put her in a blanket, and somewhere between their yard and ours, Shelby left us. I'll look for pictures later.

Sorry for your loss. It sounds like she left peacefully as possible and she left on her terms. At least you got to say goodbye.

She was always happy to see you, and always made you feel good about yourself. If life knocked you down, she made sure that you knew you gave the best tummy rubs.

She was happy when she went, very little suffering; her tail was wagging right to the end.

What a wonderful face in that photo. We loost both out 18+ year old cats within a year. I wish I had more photos like yours. Our cats were cold natured so they sit in little tins on the mantle with a roaring fire in the fireplace as I type. It will get asier with time and I'm sure you will always remember the good times just as she would want you to.
