Starting in about 1972, I put about 10 hours a week on one of these. I think its still hanging around somewhere.

I went to the local tractor/Deere dealer to spec one out. He had a mint condition used 345 on consignment from an estate for a huge savings. Done.
Congrats dude, great tractor.
Change all the fluids to Rotella T and enjoy (We actually use Rotella T as the bench mark for all our oil tests, we can't seem to beat it.)
Since this subject was fresh, I thought I'd get feedback on my new purchase. I just picked up a 1973/4 (I'm not sure yet) Cub Cadet (by International Harvester) 128. It's got the 12 Hp Kohler engine, came with the normal 3 blade cutting deck, Hyrdostatic tranny, etc. There's only light, light surface rust on a few places, and it seems to run, cut and steer great! I got it for $750 delivered, which was part of my negotiation because I don't have a way to move this tractor myself.
It's replacing a 1987 Bolens with that POS Techumseh transaxle which keeps splitting the case on me. I figure if I ever have a manage to break the transmission on the Cub, I won't know about it because I'll probably die in whatever accident causes it...
I rebuilt a 1976 for my grand daddy. The only reason we still don't have it is he didn't want to pay for the parts to rebuild the deck.
Awesome tractor

A Ferris Wheeler?
Apologies. I couldn't help it.
