The The Auto Collections at the Linq,

Closed.

My son and I used a rental car to make a loop.   Primm (the Bonnie and Clyde 1934 Ford "death car" is in Whiskey Pete's), a drive-by at the nearby solar farm, a self-guided tour of the Hoover Dam, and a stop at the Pinball Hall of Fame.  We also went to the National Atomic Testing Museum.  Yeah, we're geeks.

The Mob Museum and the Neon Museum were cool.

Go to the to of Statosphere and try some of the "thrills" or just enjoy the view--especially at sunset.

There is a pizza joint on Fremont called "Evel Pie".  Great pizza (slice and a beer is $6), and really cool Evel Knevil theme inside along with a great jukebox.

Yama sushi is great.  All you can eat for a flat price.

Fremont is fun for all.  Over a little bit East of the glitz is a bar called the Griffin where I used to work.  Nice upscale dive.  Right next door is the best NY pizza you've ever had.

Get reservations at Capo.  You'll get better reservations if you fake an Italian last name.  Capo was an old gangster hangout back in the day.  You enter off the street into a little ante-room where they slide open a little window to see who it is, then let you in.  Once inside, there is a jazz band in sharkskin suits and it's super dark so you can't see across the room to know who the gangsters are.  Of course it's just for kicks now, but the food is excellent.

The casinos also have some great shopping.

I heard that Caroll Shelby moved his facility?  But about a 20 minute drive you can go tour the Shelby shop.

Does Vegas Motor Speedway still do the thing where you can drive a nascar on the track?

Bummer, that was a neat exhibit, and I was looking forward to taking my DSLR with me next time we're out there.

Thanks for all the tips guys.

Ended up seeing the tigers and dolphins at the Mirage.

Went to the Cirque show "mystere". It was amazing but it sure makes you feel like an out-of-shape slob watching those folks.

Went to the Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur. Lots of fun.

Wandered Fremont street, took in the Evel Kinevel memorabilia at Evel Pie and got a souvenier from the guys at Downtown Tattoo.

Rode the High Roller at the Linq at night. The view is fantastic.

Penn and Teller were on vacation the week we were there.

Vegas is very peopley and having seen it, I can say I've seen it and I'm not in a big hurry to go back. It was cool and really something to see but that was enough.

The half-naked girls were very friendly. A few of them really liked my wife too. No luck on that front either. :P
