^I agree, except I can't see giving some children a $500+ toy that's easy to break/smash or run into your ankle at full speed!

this is my latest R/C money pit for now. always had cars, trucks, boats, even a couple motorcycles, but never a plane. i also bought the float set for it which might get tested out this weekend. i'm already looking at gathering the parts to build another one with ailerons and brushless power.

I've wanted to give one of those a whirl sometime. I seem to do ok with the flight sims... maybe i'd not TOTALL axe one.

    1. It's fast as hell. The VXL system in the Traxxas is one of the best budget brushless systems on the market IMO.

    2. It's STRONG. Traxxas stuff has always been the most durable to me anyhow. Stuff that would blast the rear end of my t4 apart, my rustler's like "wut" and keeps going.

    3. It's an RTR. Traxxas RTR's aren't bad. And if you don't feel the need to build one, you open the box, plug in batteries, and go to war.

    4. Your kids will LOVE that thing. I read somewhere you had kids. Kids like this stuff. My uncle had to buy one for his 10 year old daughter after she got her hands on my 18mt. She now has a T4 RTR.... and it's awesome. I'm going over there to bash with her next weekend.

    5. it's 4x4. Multipurpose, yo! Stick some PVC mod wheels on it, buncha spacers in the springs, and you got yourself a little dorifto truck. pull all that crap out, you got a wicked track truck. Mess with the output on the ESC- you have a somewhat capable crawler. Stick some foamies on it, ROAD COURSE!

There ya go. Now you have many reasons to do this.

you forgot #6: its and american company, based just outside of dallas/ft. worth, texas

    More reasons-

They sponsor a great race program that directly benefits a charity.

The Traxxas reps that were doing demonstrations in the World Challenge paddock area were really cool guys and genuine race fans. They had a full World Challenge liveried Mustang RTR kit on display at the race, too.

Their driver Eric Foss is also a super cool guy who we've worked with in the past.

See? Told you they were cool.

    an expensive addiction

and back to the problem, yeah i've tried ESC's and it only likes my Duratrax haha others it just doesn't do anything! With this radio/crystal/receiver/ESC combo is the only one that seems to work for some weird ass reason.

    In reply to mndsm:

That ones more or less idiot proof, even has an anti crash system for true beginners. If youve run rc for a good while and understand what "dumb thumbs" are you'll do fine

I was like, WHERE DO THEY SELL 7s LIPOS. That would be amazing.

In any event, if you don't want to do the Slash RTR, I know both Losi and Team Associated have kits for that exact same kinda truck.

I've seriously gotta find parts for the Blackfoot. Maybe some aluminum stuff would be great. My Google-fu is weak tonight.

omgoodness. there you go traxxas brushless plus that equals 100 plus mph untill it goes up in flames.

  • April 22, 2011 9:09 a.m. mndsm SuperDork

And it would be worth EVERY second. I'm also considering attempting a brushless designed for an airplane, or dual brushless in something like an E-Maxx.
