I need a press.. Been going without one for so long but now I got some bearings I need to swap, and some other stuff that needs pressed in and C Clamps and hammmers are getting old.

I was going to buy the 12 ton hydrolic press from Harbour Frieght.. Am I going to be sorry I didn't buy the 20 ton for 60.00 more? I see in the latest ClassicMotorsports, in the shop section they recommend and have the 20 ton.

I'd just get the 20ton. Cheap upgrade.

I've used them a few times... well worth the money.

I was looking at the 20 ton press on sale recently at HF (~$179 I think) . If I had room I would have gotten it.

Around here I don't think they will allow the sale price and the coupon although some places do. Good luck to you though. I may give it a shot.

Mine lets me stack coupons like crazy... It's rare that i walk out of there with my tendered amount MORE than my "saved amount."

    Me too...

Get the 20 ton. And it isn't for the additional press force either......

I just bought the 20 ton for $179.00 and had a 25% off coupon for Jan 1st sale. Out the door was $134.25 and tax.

I have the 12-ton. It worked on the front bearing on my wifes Subaru Legacy... barely. I had to really pull the jack lever to get the race out of the knuckle. It seemed to me that it was using all 12 tons! So yeah, like you already decided, get the 20. The frame looks beefier too.

PS, it is pretty scary to use a press if you haven't used one before. Wear PPE and stand back when it finally lets go

That's just what they are saying on Garage Journal.

    Yep...

I maxed out the 20ton on my rear hubs trying to get a thru-bolt out before the bolt finally did a slinky impression and snapped.

Which of course meant that everything flew apart in a very.. "kinetic" way.
