I think it is a gyro that operates in vacuum. Super duper ultra low friction therefore very high precision guidance and navigation. That is what it looks like to me. Never seen one before, I could be completely wrong. I have worked on vacuum stuff, gyro stuff, and navigation stuff- never all at the same time so It is a semi not retarded guess. It is very very cool!!!
