Looks like the Worldwide Pants were too often around his ankles.

Hanky-panky with subordinate employees makes him a creep, in my book.

Guy trying to extort him was a 48Hours producer...

There is a reason we are mostly Leno fans around here ;)

I like Letterman. Although I didn't expect this from him, he's human. He also seems to be a magnet for weirdo's, kooks and stalkers.

Putting Obama on his show was creepy, pants around his ankles makes him almost normal.

Leno's no better, at least when it comes to comedic value.

At least he isn't a politician and/or gay.

I don't see this as a big deal.

A guy had sex with a woman, maybe a couple of different women, apparently while he was single. This is really bad?

Yeah, what exactly is the problem? The creep would be the guy who got arrested. He gets laid and doesn't pay off extortionists - good for Dave.

As entertainment-industry sex scandals go, it's pretty mild, I agree. Still, he's been with his now-wife for over 20 years, though they were only recently married, so he was cheating on her, unless they had an open relationship or something. And, diddling the help is always a bit unseemly when you're the boss, consentual or not. But I still pretty much see this as between him, his wife, and the women involved, not really any of the public's business.

He's still funnier than Leno, though Leno is probably a better person.

to me Leno's only saving grace is that he is about the biggest Car Guy i can think off. OTOH, Letterman is from Indy and Co-Owns (or did) a race team. And I dont have NBC...

I always prefered Letterman to all the others. He was the only one who was consistantly funny.

Cheating on your wife with the hired help is kind of creepy, especially if you are the big boss.

I always liked Lettermen, partly because he is kinda creepy. I'm curious how someone decided that this was a $2million secret.

Not taking up for the guy....

But Letterman wasn't married until last March. I'm not saying what he did was right, or that he wasn't involved in a monogamous relationship prior. Just more data for the mill so to speak.

I believe this makes him the first wealthy, attention-seeking man ever to bone people who worked with/for him.
