That looks expensive....
Has anyone else noticed how cab-over trucks have fallen out of favor the last 10-15 years? In the 70's & 80's COE was more common
+10 for cool 30s style grille
minus 5 for Harley branding

Yup. Pretty much only used in local routes these days.
As far as the Lonestar goes: "retro-styling influences" gone horribly wrong. Fail.

In Europe they're all there is. I can't remember the last time I saw a front-engined truck over here.
Even the wanna-be Americans who have a row of U.S. license plates in the front window and a big eagle painted on the side drive cab-overs.
That's becasue cab overs where popular due to overall lengtt restrictions. why have 15 feet of cab when you can have only 5. It gave you 10 ft more cargo space. I'm not sure what exactly changed, but now you can run a 53ft trailer with a full length cab so there is no real advantage other than manuvering to the COE. In europe manuverability and O/A length are much more important, so you don't waste any length on a hood. COE is still relatively popular in straight trucks (isuzu NPR for example) where wheelbase and overall length are still important.
I kinda want to know what the truck in the first picture is doing though. It appears to be understeering excessively.

m4d Tyt3 USDM y0!
Because nobody like driving a COE. Filling jarring ride, sore backs, and less room inside compared to Conventional truck.
I HATE cab overs.
That being said, I think H-D is going to burn in whore-hell. Fords, sunglasses, dog bandannas, now Semis?

I know, right? Sounds like something Ferrari would do.
I had NO idea that Harley was making a V-Twin large enough to do that!
Friends of mine that drive these say the COE is great for manuverability and in-town traffic but generally have less room and a more jarring ride. Front-engined is great for over the road, highway stuff as it has a better ride and more room.
I had a job one summer during college driving a cabover truck. They'll shake you up, for sure.
and if you have a severe case of large weiner envy, you can purchase this thing..

LONESTAR!!
"they've gone to plaid"
I have never driven a real semi. All my truck driving was done in a COE international stuck to a 32foot box all on a straight truck frame.
It took a county to make U turn in that truck, but I found it was a LOT of fun

I you trying to make a point that we make fun of Harley but not Ferrari? I'll make fun of all the Ferrari crap to. I think it waters down the image of either one. The difference is that I would own a Ferrari.
Joey
I doubt ferrari makes or brands Semi's.. they have fiat for that
Yeah, I knew the idea of COE was for a shorter pkg and better turning. Didn't know about lenght restriction changes. I drove a very small Izuzu cab over for a few years, I agree about the rough ride. If you weren't belted in it would throw you out of the seat. Love those Michigan roads!
So does it leak oil? Is it louder and more obnoxious than other semis? Do the drivers make fun of the other truckers that drive volvos and mercedes for not buying a 'merican truck?
Isn't a semi engine a high RPM engine by Harley standards? They must have put both their engineers on that project....

No, I was just commenting on the fact that both Ferrari and H-D have a bunch of branded products that have absolutely nothing to do with their products. I agree with you, it does water down their image and I would own a Ferrari.
I'll add this too, as to not single out Ferrari, haha:
