There are some very low airplanes here.

I've been down there, there's still not much there. Thinking of those guys flying jets through there is amazing. I know the Dutch Airmen stationed here during WWII used to practice by doing low level flights in Downtown Jackson and under the bridges along the Mississippi.

Not into planes, but that is a SWEET post. So much insanity in there--especially the jumbo jets.

This was my favorite photo, though:

How they get this low without their balls dragging in the water I have no idea

Also, someone please tell me there are some F4s still in service somewhere in the world. Those planes just seem to get better looking with age.

    In reply to JG Pasterjak:

I think that the Greeks and Germans still have them in service.

Completely agree. That is a classic modern jet form for me. I've heard the F-4F ICE Phantom the Germans use is a very combat capable aircraft.

Wow, cool read! We're actually staying at Keesler AFB right now for a friend's wedding, and I'm staring out the window looking at the coast!!!

I've ridden back seat in a T-28, flying low enough over land to look up at telephone wires, and low enough over water to leave a wake with the prop wash. Not quite low enough to have run the gear in the water, though. It was fun - my old neighbor was a hoot to have around.

Nah, I'm not much of a gambler. We did hit the buffet at the Hard Rock Casino last trip though.

Actually, most of my own personal motivation for this trip involves food, there's a great little BBQ place off the interstate by Gautier called "The Shed", and an Italian buffet where we had lunch today called Sicily's Pizza.
