Don't the arabs chop off your twig for rape? He could probably claim that sharia law BS and they'll be too afraid of starting a jihad to convict him...

If by "twig" you mean "vagina," yes. She was asking for it. Look at the way she was dressed. (sarcasm.)

Instead of this craziness where she runs to find someone daddies age to give her that "attention"

+1. If she'd been raped, I'd say "kudos to pop."

PS: Maybe daddy paid a little too much "attention" to her.

Same with bitch (a female dog) and penis (your special organ).

GRM isn't politically correct, they just have common sense.

Edit- And seriously, as was pointed out, this isn't grade 5. Well, I guess sometimes ignorant makes me believe otherwise. HAYOOOO!

I'm upset about what the boyfriend did. No matter how well you raise your kids, a slick adult can always con them. Sorry people, it's a fact of life. Come on, what teenage girl doesn't think they way more mature than boys their age? So along comes an older guy, mature, intelligent, worldy (or so it seems), marvels at how mature and adult she is. That isn't a stretch of the imagination.

I'm not saying I agree with what he did. 14 being the age of consent? That's disgusting. I heard from an Army briefing that the age on consent is so low in Germany because it was easier to lower the age the arrest all the people breaking the law. Don't know that I believe it, but I could see it.

Ok, here's my take on this. 17 year old has consensual sex with her 50-some year old "boy"friend. Nothing wrong with this, father clearly in the wrong. On the other side of the coin, 17 year old is raped by 50-some year old, father is justified in the confrontation, but perhaps not the act.

I think most of you guys had to have had really ugly teachers. I can't believe none of you have been "hot for teacher." This girl just acted on her emotions.

I'm somewhat with you guys on the parenting fail because the father neglected to instill his morals into his daughter.

Here's a question for you guys. 2 consenting 17 year olds go at it. Is this an issue? Why is it only an issue when such an age discrepancy is involved? Now, let's go a bit more extreme. What about 14 year olds (for the sake of this argument) having a goold 'ole time?

I simply fail to see an issue with the relationship as presented. Now, given more information, my opinion certainly may change. My opinion is being formed based on the assumption that this was entirely consensual and there was no rape involved whatsoever.

Can someone explain the split ages like Utah? Is it 16 for the first wife 18 each following wife or boy/girl or what?

Usually the younger age applies to those under 25 or a similar somewhat reasonable age.

Being from Utah, I can tell you: First number: Maximum number of allowable wives. Second number: Century from which their clothing must appear to originate. There are no age restrictions.

There's lots of porn sites that cater to the old guy/teenage girl fantasy (or so my spam Email filter says). Doesn't make it right.

Being a dad of a teenage girl myself, I can understand her dad's anger. Not saying he's right, just that I can understand. And like Chris Rock says, my #1 job in life is to keep her off that damn dance pole.

What is with all the 14 stuff - the article says she was 17.

Not that 17 is that old... but it was old enough to kill and/or die for your country in many a war we fought so probably old enough to make big girl decisions too.

We make an awful big deal about other peoples business when it comes to sex.

GPS, I will hazard a guess that you don't have a daughter. Believe me, I have seen first hand the late life repercussions of poor teenage choices. I'm going to guess you haven't seen that either. If you had, maybe you wouldn't be so flip about it.

To reiterate the point of the original post: a 57 year old guy was humping a 17 year old girl. At 17, she does not have the life experience needed to handle such things. (For that matter, neither does a 17 year old boy.) No, she probably won't 'die from cock' (herpes and AIDS do come quickly to mind, though, along with teenage pregnancy) but she could sure berkeley up the rest of her life.

I'm not saying what she was doing was going to bring her any dignity - but, really, was cutting the guys nuts off much better of a decision? I'm thinking she comes from a family of poor decision makers. That guy is going to die in jail and his daughter is going to find another new daddy figure. All he did was attack his own failure to raise his daughter to do what he wanted her to do.

Never said there were good decisions on his part or hers. Two wrongs etc.

As I said earlier, no I don't condone what he did but I can understand the emotions which drove him in that direction.

I don't think he has helped her understand how to make a better decision next time though. As a father, that's what he is supposed to be doing. It's a sad thing no matter how you look at it.
