    OK, OK, OK, just stop with the end of the world Mayan calender crap!!!!

    To set the record straight. YES a Mayan "epoc" will be ending.

    This in NO way implies ANYTHING about the end of the world etc. It is EXACTLY like saying the world will end on December 31st because "Oh My God" the calender is ending!!!! Please make sure to give a nice solid head slap to anyone who thinks otherwise.

    Just wanted to do a bit of a preemptive strike before that REALLY stupid movie 2012 comes out!

    Those a-holes in Hollywood really know how to pile on the stupid.

    If the Mayan's really could predict the future like is being implied... wouldn't they have seen Cortez coming and got the hell out of there? I mean... if they couldn't see that one coming how could I expect the accuracy to improve after a couple hundred years?

    What's really berkeleying hilarious is that I've heard this garbage from super-hardcore religious types. "You should really watch that History Channel special on the Mayan calendar! They predicted all kinds of E36 M3 that's already happened, AND they said the world is going to end soon!"

    Um, you know these dudes worshipped multiple gods and goddesses, and participated in human sacrifice to said gods pretty regularly, right? Shouldn't you be all "I don't agree with that lifestyle" or "God hates Mayans" or some E36 M3?

    To do with the movie 2012, one of my friends has seen the movie and said it sucked. Special effects weren't even that good and there was no plot.

    meh. whatever. not worth my time to get riled up just b/c hollywood puts out a movie that has no connection to reality. after all, they're meant to be entertainment; not everything needs to be a documentary.

    Does anybody wonder what the Sciontologists think about 2012? OTOH, I dont have enough money to buy my way up the ladder to get any good info.
