No, haven't heard a thing about him, it's all been Obama this past week, what with the convention and everything

Yeah... Seems like a bad idea, with all the focus on corruption up there. Seems all we hear about the state down here. And how many votes will he pick up? 10?

I think it turned what was a McCain slam dunk into a backboard shattering, rim-rocking gorilla dunk.

She'll say something to the effect of "Yeah, Ted Stevens is a douche" and that's the last you'll hear of any misdeeds from Alaska.

Look for the entire cast of "The Deadliest Catch" to get ambassador positions.

Interesting how he picked someone that is pretty much the opposite corner from him on certain environmental issues. Palin is one of the leading cheerleaders of "Drill Drill Drill"

So a young black guy passes over a middle age white chick and picks an old white guy and an old white guy passes over other old white guys and picks a middle aged white chick. There's one in the eye for the Dimmycrats; 'I'll see your black guy and raise you a white chick'.

Far cry from the days of all old white guys.

    Edited for additional humor content!

    Called it!

OK, not really. I did have a chance to get tickets to today's big show in town but didn't feel like fighting the crowds or security.

    How about:

    • Black guy runs against old white guy, picks old white guy as running mate.

    • Old white guy runs against black guy who barely beat out white lady, picks white lady as running mate.

Will the depth of these guys logic every be found??

Looks like nothing more than an attempt at demographics. Which I agree, will cost him. Particularly since she represents everything he bashes Obama for.

A reform-minded, true conservative (vs GOP shill), young, attractive mother who likes to fish and fly a float-plane. What's not to love? She helped kill the "bridge to nowhere", she confronted Stevens about his shady dealings, she sold the state jet. She's against gay marriage, but not a gay bashing closet homosexual.

The only argument against seems to be inexperience. That's an argument I don't buy. Bush is experienced, and the country is in a shambles.

Frankly, despite my liberal stances on most social issues, I'm not loving Obama. His message of change keeps getting lost in his "business as usual" actions. I only wish McCain was the true conservative maverick his handlers would have us believe he is.

That tidbit fits this story how exactly?

Just to clarify her stance on an issue that is more and more becoming less clear along party lines (pro-choice Repubs, pro-life Dems, etc.) and is also a fairly major moral/ethical issue to most people no matter which side of the debate you're on.

"Against gay marriage but not gay bashing" is like saying "Against interracial marriage but not openly racist"

OK, McCain had lost me, but I do like this woman. Can I just vote for her? So far I like her better than my two choices.

    yeaahh. not really.

Many people are against gay marriage being recognized by the state, but not against something like a civil union that permits some of the benefits of marriage. I have no idea if that is her stance, but the it's no where near as cut and dry as you stated.

Personally if it were about putting a woman on the ticket I would have went with Condoleeza Rice. Sure she is part of the old Bush gang but she seems to be the only one in the office who gets E36 M3 done.

Watching the Alaskan Govenor speak right now, no teleprompters, not looking at notes often, seems off the cuff and sincere. Obama can't do that. McCain needs someone with her beliefs in his corner, woman or not.

Lets see how the movie ends....
