Huntsville has a lot of jobs, although there have been a lot of layoffs at NASA, Boeing, and some others in the past year or so. If there is anyplace semi-close to where you now live that might have some activity in the construction industry it might be worth checking out. I think the housing market is still a little slow, but better than a lot of places due to a lot of people moving here due to BRAC.

Yeah, but our in Dayton, OH office. We also have a company in Raleigh, NC but they don't have any current field openings. Good luck man!

Don't laugh, but Disney hires construction experts regularly. My cousin's boyfriend just started with them ~1 month ago, as a recent grad of UF's building/construction school.

I wouldn't mind a bit working for the Mouse. My degree is in theatrical design, so it sounds kind of fun.

Not a clue, but an old friend of mine's dad was an engineer/project manager for a construction company that had a big contract with Disneyland. He renovated their entire house with leftovers from the Disney jobs. He said that all the tile in the kitchen and bathroom had the mouse head logo stamped on the backside, because it was made specifically for Disney.

i know a guy who knows a guy that's an engineer at disneyworld. i'll try to get his contact info and make an introduction.

You might want to talk to Bechtel. They said they were going to have a big construction project in Northern Alabama.

Not really. He went through the career fair route.

And put up with low taxes, low housing prices, decent people, and hot humid summers? It's not so bad. Of course, I can drive about 15 miles in any direction and be in sterotypical Alabama. Huntsville is a bit different.
