I'm not much of a Grammar Nazi, but those extra commas are driving me insane. Of course they skipped the Oxford.
Aren't you supposed to put a comma after every item in a list? Unless theres a Waffen SS level of grammar Nazi I haven't witnessed.

You don't put one before the first term in a list. And in this case it would need to be a colon or something anyway, because that sentence structure is all kinds of messed up.

That sentence is a disaster, but if you consider "zip ties and duct tape" to be a combined entity and not two separate things, then that could be correct.
But I don't think the author had that much thought involved.
