Anybody have experience with any of newer metal detectors? What are some of the things you found and where? I see guys on the beach all of the time but lately I've seen a few walking around the park. Just being curious...

I know a guy who has a White dealership(mostly just so he can get the newest models at cost
). He said about $500 is a good starting point, that the cheaper ones just don't do as well at discriminating between junk & treasure.

The ones I've ever seen at parks, and that isn't a new development, are usually looking where people might have stood for a sporting event or a concert. I actually don't see all that many people using them, but I suppose that's because of the time of year (too cold for crowds outside)?
Also see guys looking under bleachers...but they could just be using the metal detector as an excuse to do something else under there.
