It's been a while since I've bought some both relatively expensive and pointless but today I seriously considered buying another fiat. Only 24 easy payments of $64.95
I can buy the real thing for less than the cost of the model!
(this forum really needs better "laugh" emojis. That one hardly does what I'm doing justice)
Yesterday someone brought bagels and cream cheese into work.
Today there was some leftover cream cheese left in the fridge, but no bagels. It's honey walnut or some such fancy Panera flavor.
I'm eating it with a spoon.

Today was works thanksgiving meal. Owner smoked a turkey, there was awesome sides, desserts, etc. I only went because I went to 7-11 for a Dr. Pepper, realized it was lunch time, and work was closer than taco bell. It's my day off, and the LAST berkeleying thing I wanted to do was go to work.
In reply to Hungary Bill :
The model is probably easier to push, though!
Evan was checking them out on some Hungarian forsale site one time. The pickup versions are compelling.

Confession: The older I get, the less respect I have for laws and regulation. Example: My Swedish drivers license expired while I was in the US. My US drivers license expired at the same day as my VISA, for obvious reasons. So I found myself in limbo, between licenses. I double checked with the authorities and "NO! You can NOT drive on an Expired license, with or without other identification available. NO! Not even if you have 2 of them, one from each country!" (insert voice of not even slightly amused clerk lady). Getting my license renewed took 2 weeks... during which I happily not only drove around, but also took a roadtrip down south to buy a car.
Trailer is heavier then my brand spanking new licenses allows? Well, the cops here are reasonable and the car is certified for it. Nothing dangerous - let's roll.
Speed limit for anything that tows: 80km/h. Well, yes, sure... but it's not safe to clog up the highway, is it?
Was I supposed to get they garbage inspected before we left? I'm sure it's fine. Looks to be in great shape.
It helps that we have almost no police cars on the roads at all these days... Well, it helps ME at least.
80km/h? I've... er... yes, I can admit that I have doubled that while towing with a Volvo. Both of the ones I have owned, actually.
I think your time in the US has rubbed off on you. There is a definite attitude here that rules are meant to be broken. There's been a lot of history behind that starting with the 1930s where people started to get the idea in their heads that what was legal and what was right were not always in agreement, and oftentimes at odds.
And this is why something like 2 out of 3 people in the US are lawyers.

1930s? Its been that way since the beginning. Americans have always harbored a distrust of authority (in varied capacities.)

I've decided I need a Gemballa Cybertruck to exist. If I start selling enough cocaine I'll definitely buy one.
I must confess: it's a bit unsettling when I google something and find an old internet post/thread of mine. Or a new one, for that matter. The speed at which GRM threads get indexed by google is a bit unsettling as well. It's like, "oh right, literally nothing is private anymore, and also I post about obscure nonsense. great"

I had been posting on USENET extensively in the time period of roughly 1991 to 2002.
If I search for my old e-mail addresses, I find hits for things from way back then. A couple of my posts are also on yarchive.net, which is an archive of articles an individual found interesting, dating back to the mid-80s.
Oddly, one of the things I don't like about "social media" is that it is NOT very searchable. I like to go on yarchive and read articles about WWII planes, written by the men who actually flew them in combat. Very interesting first person looks at history, written in a candid manner, not polished for publishing. And there are some pretty funny asides too...
The liquid-cooled aircraft engine was a dead end side branch of aircraft
development. Had the US Army joined the U.S. Navy (and the airlines) in
favoring the radial and pushing its development, a lot of young men who
died in air combat in the early 1940s would be alive today to infest
internet newsgroups.

Yes that's what I said.
I think roughly a 6-8 drop will be required.

Cocaine makes you a new man and the first thing the new man wants is more cocaine.

I sure hope not if I'm the one selling it.

My family decided that rather than try and get everyone gifts this year, we would all draw a name and just be responsible for that person. My father and I drew each other's names and immediately started scheming how to manipulate the system "You bought me half of a 2-post lift? What a coincidence, I bought you half of a 2-post lift too!"

Just make sure you don’t buy the same half!
