I've bought things from McMaster-Carr before and it always went fine. This time, though, I wanted to try to get some HIPS sheet from them but I was a little worried about shipping costs since another site I found wanted to charge $297 to freight me a single $19 sheet of plastic. So I put the sheet in my cart. "Tax and shipping will be figured out later". Okay... So I put in my address and name and all that like I do for other sites figuring that before I put in my credit card, they'll tell me how much it'll cost. Nope. Your order is submitted and will be delivered in two days.
Uh, I get that you need to figure out the shipping and all that, but maybe I might want to know all the costs involved before I actually submit my order. So now I have to look like an idiot and fill out a "contact us" type webform to cancel the order. How 1996 of you...
Dammit demon you need to take a berkeleying nap!!! Nobody makes you get up so berkeleying early, and nobody wants you to wake up so berkeleying early, then you're a total birch all day because you woke up so berkeleying early. berkeleying stop it, take a berkeleying nap for an hour. You're not going to miss anything, everybody is fixing exhausted because of you, which is why nobody wants top do anything with you.
Anyone want to buy a 4 year old? Will consider trades as well for a mini mill or C25 setup.
Robbie said:My rant is that the mortgage company apparently paid property taxes to some other property out of my account. After repeated calls and escalations they do agree that it looks like the payment was made in error.
But they can't fix it because the tax paying department is a WHOLE SEPARATE COMPANY who does not take calls from the mortgage company or customers. So we can only make notes on the account and ask them to check.
And now my mortgage payment is going up due to the escrow shortage due to the false payment. And that is my money that disappeared and I can't seem to get back.
And they can't provide any documentation (bill or invoice, etc) that shows that I even owed money in the first place. How are they paying bills in my name if there isn't a bill to pay?!?
Guess I'm going to have to learn about small claims court.
Have you threatened lawsuit on the phone to a supervisor? And their supervisor? And have you threatened to report them to the CFPB?

My kids both hated sleep. Never wanted to go to bed, always wanted to get up, quit naps at a very early age. It was exhausting. I feel your pain.

No, I haven't gone that far yet. I had not thought of threatening a report to the CFPB however. I was promised an update by Friday. I guarantee I'll have to get on the phone with them again then.

Here at least, and I think everywhere, once your loan is at/below 80% of the original loan amount, you can remove the escrow account and pay the property taxes and insurance yourself. You just have to make sure to do it.
But make sure this is taken care of first. And charge them interest.

Twice our mortgage company paid my taxes to my neighbors house. Isn’t there a PIN number our county uses? Yes. They fixed it and when I refinanced I now pay my taxes.
Cops, packages, and a lot of pizzas come to my house due to living on “street” and the other guy on “court”. Ironically a lot of food deliveries are during NASCAR races.
There was an old Krass & Bernie comic in Car Craft where the boys bought a locally famous drag car that had belonged to a guy nicknamed Happy. It goes on to say that after a routine engine rebuild, Happy started becoming more and more erratic and then eventually vanished. Krass ends up finding a screwdriver in the hood webbing at which point Happy pops out of the trunk where he'd been living, saying that the car had developed a rattle that he was never able to find, and drove him insane and made him question his mechanical skills. I am Happy right now, with this damned buzz/rattle that the Miata has developed that I cannot find.
I'm just going to sell new Schraeder valves with every A/C service. Fifth one in a row that had them leaking after disconnecting the equipment.
And one of the new ones leaked. Pulled it out, found a big cut in the sealing gasket.
Lovely. It only takes 20 minutes to evac, repair, vacuum, and recharge each time. No rush.

Be thankful its not an R1234yf system. Those take an hour and a half or more to evac and recharge
The area beside the gas pump is for those people wishing to put gas in their cars. Not a place for you to park and waddle in to get a giant slushy- You lazy beotch.
In reply to NickD :
To be fair, I'm cheating on the vacuum. Only 10 minutes to vacuum. I figure I already pulled it under a vacuum once, so there shouldn't be any moisture in the system unless it came in with the refrigerant... and if it did, then there's no poiint to a proper vacuum anyway.
Can't wait to do a 1234yf system. We just got the machine last month, we do side work for some of the local body shops and none of them have refrigerant machines or people certified to do A/C work.

I garuntee the people that do that cannot reverse to save their lives. Help them learn by parking so close in front of them, that they are forced to back up. Your reward is watching them struggle.
I haven't decided what's preferable : neatly slicing skin numerous times on my right hand, or smashing a chunk off the same hand. Either choice, the salt that was forcibly ground in to said injuries was nice.

Because if you get that one wrong it's big boom boom time and the EPA will have to Superfund your toxic cleanup...
In reply to Javelin :
It's because the refrigerant costs close to $1000 for a 10lb can, and the machines have a mandatory waiting period where they do a 10% fill and pause to check for a pressure drop for some specific period of time.
Also IIRC, the systems that do use it are exceedingly small, so the machines have to be pretty precise. The ancient old R-134a machine that I used to use would hold 4 ounces of refrigerant in the hoses, so you have to develop a knack for "overfilling" to account for that. Meanwhile, if a 1234yf system holds 10 ounces, being an ounce off either way would be a factor of 10%.

I got pinned in at a gas station tonight. While I was filling up the Disco, the car ahead of me finished and drove away, in it's place a small 2 door mini pulled up nose to nose with my truck. They pulled up so far they were three feet ahead of the pump and less than 2 feet from my front bumper. After paying and getting in, another car pulled in behind me, less than 2 feet from my rear bumper. I was thankfully that I have the high intensity LED taillights I put in, I dropped it in reverse and just sat there and let them stare at them until they backed up enough for me to get out.
These are not something you want to look at directly

I picked up a pack of bacon (reduced sodium, I am still trying to be somewhat good with my blood pressure...) and brought in 5 slices with me to work- 2 for breakfast and 3 to put on my salad mix for lunch. Cooked the two for breakfast the same way I usually do in the microwave... and somehow literally MELTED the middle of one of the pieces. I've NEVER seem meat just melt into a puddle like that before.
Obviously did not eat that part, and unfortunately the rest of it tasted burned as a result (I do like my bacon nice and crispy, but this was WAY beyond that). I'll have to use a lot lower initial time in the micro on the bacon for lunch... and now I've got to figure out what I've got that will get the horrible burned bacon taste out of my mouth. >_<

I've had that happen in the skillet with bacon that was wayyyy too fatty. Went straight from chewy to melted. That was why it was on sale for a ridiculous price at the store.
