Heh, thanks- but I needed to put my head down and plow through processing a lot of data so I pulled up the newest Infected Mushroom album on Amazon Music and that solidly pushed JCS out of mind...
Just cut a almost 5 figure check to the dmv for my registration and sales tax on the R8 only to be told that I need an active registration to finalize. On a car that was registered in Montana, owned by someone in new mexico and sold by a dealer in Arizona. that has not been on the road in almost two years. Yeah that is not happening. Told me after I cut the check of course.
Also broke my right thumb last night after leaving DMV.
Nail in tire on way to work this morning.
Forgot to inject this morning as well which is going to make me one hell of a raging monster as well.

How in the hell am I supposed to help my elderly mother recover from her broken leg if the refuses to do anything other than sit in bed or roll around in her wheelchair (that she doesn't need). I told her she could live with me until she is better, but damned if I'm going to just wait on her while she does nothing.
I work with too many people that constantly do a ellipses whenever they say something, no matter what it's about.
Or they'll do an elongated one like, "Working with so and so........"
Just stop, please. I automatically assume you have more to say or you're annoyed that you're asking me a question.

There was a poster here who never used single periods to end their sentences. Everything got a minimum of an ellipsis and some got 5+ periods in a row.
I took to reading their posts in Stevie's voice from Malcolm In The Middle.
I have a tendency to do that to..........
Insurance on 6 cars for 4 drivers when 2 of them are teenagers is berkeleying brutal. SWMBO costs 425 every six months. I cost 650 but that's for three vehicles.
The teenagers are 722 and 794 each! Driving safe, boring, inexpensive cars.
My total is 2800 every six months.

I pay roughly 100% more for DD#2 (24-year-old female; defensive driving bonus, no claims bonus) in her 2006 Impala than I do for DW in her 2017 S60 (similar bonuses). Oddly enough the V60, despite being 2 years newer and roughly 100 more HP, is cheaper even than the S60 despite my longer commute.
When will people learn that the low bidder frequently does E36 M3ty work. I end up with any money saved anyway so how about paying me to do it right the first time instead of paying me to polish the turd they already bought. It would make everyone's life and job easier, including theirs.

Holy crap. I pay $120 a month for 6 cars and 2 drivers
Spent the last hour designing a mounting bracket in Fusion 360. Forgot I had switched the default measurement to inches to design a trailer a couple of weeks ago.
I now have a design for a really cool bracket designed to mount a 90" headlight instead of a 90mm headlight.
I don't see a easy way to fix that in Fusion 360.
I'm going to try reducing it in Cura and print it to see what happens.

It's better than a coworker that speaks in "Shatner pauses".

You'll never fly again.
Realize that most of the parts on the plane you are flying in are there because they were the lowest bidder.
In reply to Appleseed :
The airline industry has actual standards that their products are required to meet and they test to make sure they do. Construction has no such test that anyone actually does. Most owners idea of a spec is whatever is cheapest.
Not that it matters, it's been 10 years since I felt the urge to fly anywhere.

I always tell people that the cheapest bid is actually the most expensive. Very few believe me.
Guess who gets called to fix it though? And guess how much my figure goes down?
So one call to the good hands people netted me a quote of 1800. I've been a loyal customer of my military based insurance company for 19 years so I figured I'd give them a call and see if they cared to get close to that.
Nope. Apparently they'd rather lose me as a customer and get zero dollars from me than fix their rates and continue getting 1800 per 6 months. And asshat "retention specialist" told me that if I leave them and come back, my rates will be higher since I won't have years of seniority built up. berkeley right off with that E36 M3 skippy!
To really ice the cake, USAA has a "member account" that you can't access until you leave them. Each year it grows and after 19 years mine is something like 7-8K. Sort of an enticement to actually leave.......so why force me to you asshats!?
Just stupid.
Reading the other rants mine seems so petty.
Just saw Roadkill's Rotson episode (again) and it gives me this crazy desire to take my RX-8 sell the running Renesis on ebay, buy the $150 to $300 4.3 engines I see on CL and make an Ode to Rotson for the Challenge.
I say rant because Nov 1, 2020 I would look at the RX-8 and be sad it didn't have a rotary anymore.
Doctors finally figured out the problem in my chest is muscle spasms in my esophagus. I thought fantastic that can be fixed! Only problem is the meds are exspensive and used too treat high blood pressure. I have low blood pressure so there's a high chance this stuff hurts more then helps.

My wife doesn't understand this, but I have an overwhelming desire and need to lend assistance whenever I can and I've always maintained a mantra that help is defined as doing something that someone needs you to do when they want it done and the way they want it done. I'll do pretty much any task and work long hours at it - I'm going to make a few dozen dozen doughnuts this afternoon for our Youth Group and then get up at 5am tomorrow to make another few dozen dozen. If it's a good cause and they need some help, I'll bust my hump and do almost anything they need. But the one thing that I just am no good at and absolutely hate doing is volunteer recruiting and coordinating. I was asked to help out with the serving line for the parish's fish fry this year. I was told that they needed someone to help out with making sure the people serving the food had everything they needed, to help with setup and teardown of the line, make sure everyone was doing what they needed to do. So of course I said I'd do that. And then I get handed an Excel spreadsheet and am told that I need to start calling these people and seeing if they'll volunteer again this year.
I'm going to do it. But I'm not happy about it and it is not something that I will be doing next year.
In reply to wae :
Sounds like they are taking advantage of your kindness. I'd shut it down , hand the sheet back and help someone else that needs helped.
You only get so much time on Earth, might as well not waste it.
