Just broke my glasses. YAY. Not a huge deal, as I have backups. But still.
Also: Walgreens sucks. Seriously, your vaccine registration is horrible. How is it worse than all the other sites? I've been trying to get my neighbor, who I think still uses dial-up, an appointment for over two hours. Supposedly Walgreens has appointments available here. The site is plain out not working. Grrrrrrrr..... We're hoping that she can take her husbands appointment that his cardiologist arranged for him, because we're hoping that the one he has scheduled with the VA is going to be moved up, but won't know until tomorrow.
The next car was supposed to take five to eight days to arrive.
It seems to have taken three.
That should be a minor win, but I still have another car parked where this one is supposed to go. I have no idea how to make this work. I'm thinking I might drop the current car off for an oil change and not go pick it back up until Saturday, just to put things off until I can have time to take photos for a Craigslist ad and figure out where everything will live.
Today makes my 3rd day in Floriduh... tomorrow makes 4... and I'm stuck here in a hotel room not working because of a pending background check that I submitted to 10 days ago...
If it isn't solved by Monday, I'm going home to TN.

Installing spiro-locks without the spiro-lock tool. 'Nuff said.
Haven't got the Impala sold yet - I'm off work next week, so it'll likely go on FB marketplace, where I'm sure I can get considerably more out of it than I am asking on the board here, but I just don't want to deal with the general public.

Things just couldn't berkeleying be easy. Got a rate. Got everything locked in. Getting ready to make an offer. Owners soon to be ex wife has filed a lawsuit that includes an injunction to prevent the house from being sold. The whole idea was to sell the dammit house to be so the divorce would be easy. What pisses me off even more is he paid cash for the house. Out of his own pocket. She has invested nothing. Nothing. And she's gonna get half.
Well, the good news is that whatever I did to the sump pump around 4pm yesterday appears to have, for now, fixed the problem. Of course, I spent over an hour after work getting things together to be able to use the old backup pump and float system from the original system. Probably not a bad thing that I didn't end up needing to try and install it- it means I can wait and do it when it's a lot drier out and water isn't constantly draining into the sump.
Not in the best of shapes/moods this morning though- I didn't sleep well Tuesday night because of the sump pump situation, last night it had been running properly for long enough that it didn't keep me up worrying- but I could not get The Dancer to wake up from where she usually falls asleep on the couch snuggled up with The Dog and ended up falling asleep in bed by myself- only to of course be woken up when they eventually came down to bed. And then The Dog decided that he wanted to curl up right next to our pillows, and The Dancer didn't want me trying to move him... so I slept horribly because he was taking up so much space and I couldn't sleep the way I usually do. So after 2 consecutive days of spending over 12 hours sitting at my computer desk (doing both my actual work and trying to finish up a video for her non-profit) and 2 nights of bad sleep, my lower back is really not happy and I'm in a pissy mood. Should make for a fun day...
Beautiful weather. Cant enjoy it due to working. Supposedly going to rain again all weekend.
And the woods aren't clear yet, and i don't want to wait a year...
And chick-fil-a was out of salads yesterday, amd i still really want one.
Yup. Whining about my blessings today.

It's only a blessing if it really is a blessing, though.
A beautiful day when you can't enjoy it is just another day. Tricking yourself into thinking yourself otherwise is just going to increase unhappiness.

Kinda found a compromise. At least better than nothing! I get fresh air, frogs croaking, a breeze, Nd sone natural light.
gotta find a win where you can. And i spent lunch working on clearing the woods. I want to see the creek.
Today's breakdown brought to you by Sprint. I'm glad they're out of business and hope the people who sold me my preowned iPhones and didn't mention they were leased have since choked on bags of dicks. Not to the point of death but to where they repeatedly wished they were. I really feel bad for the kid, Greg at T Mobile that had to watch me have an ugly tantrum and figured out how to fix things.
Got the new car. Gonna start a build thread later, but the shipper dropped it in a super busy parking lot and now it won't start.
Waiting for a wrecker in my warm, boring car that runs.

So long as my wrecker shows before anyone else's. So many cars fighting to pick up pizza.

As he has the fittings that I could use ....but are not AVAILABLE at the BOX stores......HERE IN TEXAS!!!! late y'all peace out
One of the inhalers my dad needs is $899 a month.
$899 berkeleying dollars a month, holy berkeley

Sympathy from a type 1 diabetic.
In reply to Appleseed :
It's insane. Luckily thru samples and Medicare and some help he got it down to $219 this month with hopes for better next month but.....who the hell has $30 a dose for a drug they need? Certainly not someone that's getting what he gets in SS and not being able to work.
What do people do when they don't have family that helps them pay for this stuff?

Everything. Koumadin was $1500/dose 3 doses a week for 12 of the 15 years my dad was on dialysis.
The months where insurance and Medicare "forgot" that dialysis was a regular thing and we got bills for 40 to 50k for the month, they got told to go berkeley themselves and we went on with life. They'd him and haw and threaten, but you can't get blood from a stone.
They want to continue their extortionate pricing, they'll pay, eventually. Can't turn a profit off a dead man.
In reply to RevRico :
1500 a dose is worse, Jesus.
I don't think telling them to screw off is an option since I have to pick it up at a pharmacy, although I'm sadly very willing to do that
In reply to Antihero (Forum Supporter) :
There may be less expensive alternatives that have been around for some time. There haven't been all that many break thru drugs or therapies over the past many years. The inhaler he needs may be a "me too" variation of an existing less expensive drug. Part of Pharmas business plan is to slightly modify existing drugs to make them patentable and possibly better in significant or insignificant ways and then price the new drug very high and promote the hell out of it.
Good luck.
In reply to M2Pilot :
From what I've seen the substitutions are similar in price. His is Trelegy.
Anoro didn't work as well for him and apparently the only substitution requires him to have 2 at $600 and $175 a month, I guess it's a savings though.
If anyone knows something else, I'm all ears
TIL some people think the snow that fell in Texas was fake and created by Bill Gates?
WTF?
It's a death by 1000 cuts sort of day.
I'm always glad to help out the rookies out at work, but their timing has been amazing today.
I think I'm getting a cold *OR* all of the damp has the mold up and my allergy is bothering me.
It's raining again, which won't help with the mold.
Kids are having a bad day with everything.
Wife didn't like the truck I did.
etc.

Does he have a patient advocate? If he's on social security and Medicare or Medicaid, he should have one. If you don't know, call the social security office.
My buddy Eric works for social security, and his departments sole job is to ensure people are covered and getting what they need, and they'll go to bat for the recipients when things get really crazy.
