People who refuse to stop at the white line at red lights.. Everyday I need to make a sharp left turn and everyday a car sits a car length ahead of the white line making it a bitch to make the turn without hitting the curb. It is fun to see the drivers face when I get within a few inches of thier front bumper to make the turn..

It's worse when you are either running and they drive right into the walkway, or if you are riding a bike, and do the same, into your biking lane.

When people are itching to make the right turn when I have the walking right of way, I tend to take a LOOONG time, and look at them in their faces. jackwads. If 10 seconds are that important, leave earlier.

I've bumped slow walkers before. YMMV Usually they get out of the way after that lol. Of course, that is only when they walk when the crosswalk lights say DON'T CROSS or are flashing/counting down for the people currently crossing.

Bonus points if you don't slow down. Also bonus points if you have a big ugly van like me. Instant win if its a really expensive car in addition to all that

If that happens to me, I'll stop and call 911. Maybe even lie down on the ground and ask for an ambulance. If the driver still has a red- it's still the right of way of the walker, even if it's blinking.

It's your license. YMMV.

This is Canada, at best, I may get a ticket for failing to yield if there were witnesses. We don't deal with your legal shenanigans up here. Beyond that, sure, while blinking if you entered the intersection before it started to blink.

Interesting that regardless of how impatient someone is, you feel you have the right to waste others time. What a considerate soul we have here eh?

Credit card phishing scams from the same 515 areacode number everyday for the last 2 weeks. Last time , a few moments ago, I asked the guy to listen carefully and he said "Don't bother I'm going to hang up on your ass...click"

I just wanted to inform him that I have filed harassment reports and scam reports to the FCC and my credit card companies.

Next time I'm just going to play along and try to get some info from them to better aid the authorities. Of course only the CC company really cares.

I'm getting fairly annoyed with automated responses to any emails I send out.

I've been trying to apply with a company, and while taking their assessment the test crashed halfway through. I go to reload, and it acts as if I've finished and sent me to the next section.

I send an email explaining my problem, and get back the same suggestions they gave before I started the test. The ones about system requirements, and disabling a pop-up blocker so I can take the exam.

I calmly email back this morning that I thought it was clear I had already started the test, and wanted to know if I could restart. I get back an email that explains my place would be saved if my computer crashes, (which it didn't) and instructions on how to take the test.

I had a similar problem dealing with an internet sales dept. at a dealership 3 weeks ago. No one ever answered my question, but I get an email a day thanking me for my query.

IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK TO GET A HUMAN TO READ AND CRAFT A RESPONSE TO MY EMAIL?!? ARGH!

Also kinda funny, while leaving work this morning, I drive by the local university and notice they have crossing guards...for college students.

... And what's with this moronic trend I'm seeing emerge of:

  • Car #1 stops a full length behind the white line...

  • Car #2 leaves 20' to car #1.

  • Car #3 leaves a length.

  • I'm car #4, and I'd really like to be able to roll forward the 4' I need to get into the turn arrow lane which is about to...Nope, now it's green...and not one of these asshats can maneuver their vehicles any closer than 15' to another vehicle, or a white line.

Or...I'm on the highway (either I-95, 495 or 270) going say, 73mph. I'm in lane #2 and using the otherwise empty left lane for passing. You (the douchetard who's busy on the phone) proceed to park it about 7' off my back bumper. I could be in my Miata or my Tacoma. I could be on my tiny, smoky RD400 Yamaha. But there you sit. I move one lane to the right to allow you to pass. You follow my lane change.

I speed up-you speed up. I slow down-you slow down.

Then, if I'm in the Tacoma which needs a rear bumper and a little paint on one corner of the bed, I lift a little and let you close the gap a bit. Then I absolutely mat the brake pedal. I'm a little stunned I've never gotten anyone to actually hit me. Anyway, then you're pissed off that your phone is in the footwell all up behind your brake pedal, and you go all volcanic rage on me, 'til I challenge w/ a braking duel at my exit, which being a racer, I win effortlessly.

So many things people can do to infuriate.

It's been a long day, I've got a few.

Yes, the bus left without you. When I told you to get on you weren't sure so you consulted your phone, compass, astrologer ect. He had to go. now you'v got another six minutes to get your E36 M3 together before you get left here again

I know I seem to bright to be working for a bus company. It's all about context. If we were in an office discussing your hernia you'd think I sounded a bit slow for a surgeon.

I did everything I could to get back your iPad, now you have to wait and see if it turn up in lost and found. Complain all you want but it's not the driver's fault or my fault, only the iDiot that left it behind.

Car turning left sits well into the intersection, waits through multiple chances to turn, waits for light to turn yellow/red (oncoming traffic stopped), then turns, leaving everybody else waiting for the next green. I see it every time I go into the city.

Car sits at red light waiting for a green to turn right. We can turn right on a red. They usually don't move until I hit the horn.

Why is there no decent multi-format music player out there for Linux? I've got a great one on my Android phone, which is a Linux variant, but there seems to be no reasonable option for a standard desktop install. Hello, this is not something that is irrelevant to the interests of nerds. So get on it, nerds.

"Amarok", which comes standard with most distributions, blows donkey goat nuts. The full-screen interface is cluttered, useless and terrible. It's buggy, it HOGS resources on my year-old laptop, and it crashes all the time, and I've had it corrupt my files on playback before. VLC sort of works but it's not really designed for that sort of thing. xmp and Gmodplay work great from the command line but they don't play mp3/ogg and have no interface.

Why can't we have a nice native app that looks and works like good old Winamp or XMplay? It sits up in one corner of the screen, playlist scrolls down the side in a small window, plays everything, uses no resources (original Winamp ran fine on a 486 for berkeleying out loud!), and has some nice basic equalizer options. How hard can it be?

There are a million open source playback engines that you can use already, I just want an interface!

Hmm, I had a look at it just now. I don't want a full screen interface though, just a little control window and a separate playlist window (like we USED to have back in the good ol' days dangnabbit!) Also I run KDE but I'm guessing you can make it work under that.

They do get big bonus points for featuring the YTMND soundtrack in their official screenshots however!

oregon thinks its population is too dumb to pump their own gas, so they make it illegal. so now i have to wait for some moron whos trying to run 12 pumps.

If that wasnt enough, now they passed a law against "topping off". So now i cant even get a full tank because they wont even try to put more in once it clicks. since the pumps often click off when another pumps clicks, when i ask for a full tank they give me 1/2 or 3/4. WTF!

I am SO F'n sick of people in the government that think they need to protect us from ourselves.

How can it be this hot and humid? It was well over 30 again this afternoon for like the fifth day running! My new commission pay scale at work. It favors higher gross percentage sales, and it tabulated on a weekly format. So one bad day, or even a particularly large bad sale, can ruin an entire week.

I did the math, there was about $1000 in profit that I made for the company last week that cost me $50 out of my own pocket. Yes, if I had sent those customers packing down the street and told them I didn't want their business I would be $50 richer.

In the 9 years of tire and service sales this is the only pay system that I've seen that encourages turning certain sales away.

The kicker is I just found out that they're adding a bonus system to offset those low margin sales. So that $50 I lost for actually selling things? I would get $8 back in bonus.
