Just heard back from my sister after she spent the past 6 weeks here on vacation. She got home to a totally filthy apartment because her husband didn't clean ANYTHING. The toilet was brown and yellow with urine and E36 M3 stains, every dish was in the sink, towels and dirty clothes on the floor, and to top it off, he didn't take the trash out once, so the entire apartment was full of flies from all the maggots that were busy devouring the trash.
How can ANYBODY live like that?!?
Now that I've finally got the Jeep sold and have the (or at least part of the) money to buy something more fun and enjoyable- namely a convertible- there don't seem to be any good ones nearby that fit the bill.

Can any of you Florida people help cheer me up?
Does Cape coral lay in a hurricane zone? Maybe bad enough that the houses right on the water are at risk of disappearing?
A yes would definitely improve my mood.
BERKIN CREDIT CARD FRAUD
So, I checked my account this morning and found that some lowlife ordered about $1,500 worth of pocket knives from a internet shop based out of new york. 3 transactions, all recent.
So I called the bank and did the usual contesting of charges, freezing card and ordering a new one..
Then I called the company the order was placed with.
They have been most cooperative.
Physical address, IP address, email, etc..
oh, and they refunded the charges.
The physical address is in my town.
off to file a police report.
they berked with the wrong hombre.

sadly I don't think it does. Most Hurricanes either slam into the East coast or go up through the top and panhandle back out into the atlantic. I don't think Tampa has seen a major hit in decades
Took my car too the carwash yesterday to spray off the dust and bugs, wife tells me to swing by wal mart and it just happens they are chipsealing roads. Wake up this morning and finally look at the wagon and its pretty much gray. Guess its car wash time again.

Yes, that SOB would be gone if it was me.

Architect annoyances, episode whatever - Engineering drawings traditionally go in this order:
Mechanical
Plumbing
Electrical
In the project manual, the Masterspec / CSI divisions are in the same order...
Yet most architects and engineers insist on abbreviating the consulting package as MEP, not MPE.
THEY ARE WRONG. It's M-P-E. In that order. That is all.
Earwigs. God damned earwigs! Nasty motherberkeleyers!
Killed one of them in my office yesterday and just now spotted another one out of the corner of my eye while sitting at my desk. Tried to stomp the bastard doing some kind of clumsy and ridiculous looking seated tap dance in my steel toes, and thought I got him, but found no evidence of the kill on either my boot or the floor. Now I'm freaking out and jumping out of my seat at every little itch and tickle.

I took delivery of a brand new Mazda3 for my wife yesterday. Machine grey metalic, nice dark color. It was cloudy when I picked it up and they had the car parked in the shade of an awning next to the showroom. I walked around it and gave it the good eyeball treatment. It looked pretty much perfect. Later that afternoon, the sun came out and there is a big scrape right in the center of the hood that apparently only really pops in direct sunlight. I'm sure it's fixable, but wow that really pisses me off. When I buy a new expensive item, I want it it to be perfect until I do something stupid to it.
Loaded the Trailblazer and spent 5 days in Door County, Wisconsin with the wife, 2 kids, and pop-in-law. Got home last night and one of my new boat shoes is missing - after being nagged by the wife for wearing a worn pair for ten years I stepped up and spent $50 at Bass Pro and bought a new pair only to lose one 6 weeks later. E36 M3
Funny thing is the worn pair is sitting in a garbage can in the garage right now - I guess I need to pull them out and try to get another ten years out of them.
Really pisses me off to hear a local company whine to the media about how they're starving for tech talent, when these same berkeleyers apparently circle-filed my resume just a couple weeks ago. And then they advise people to get a tech education if they want a good job here. That's a giant load of horseE36 M3, ask me how I know.
I wonder if the rest of their workers are a bunch of Silly Valley tech bro cosplayers with their heads in the clouds, like their PR guy is.
Last day of an ISO audit. They still haven't come to talk to me. Waiting ...

The bath I took in gasoline a couple weeks back (see TIL thread and 305 TBI poor running thread) seems to have put my beautifully tanned arms over the edge. My skin is falling off wrist to shoulder, both arms. I look strait up diseased. Tan ruined*.
*probably also one more cancer added to my list for later in life.
They have both us127 and us118 torn up in town. Traffic on the side streets is crazy. Getting back and forth in the north/south direction in town is now a giant pain in the ass.
I don't think I'll have enough money to go to Oshkosh.
Really? Then why are we in a craft store buying crap? Its $32 for a ticket. Why are you buying $13 worth of things at a craft store? Things that will still be there after Oshkosh is over.
I've been going to the EAA fly-in for 23 years straight. I will not miss it, even if I have to leave you behind.
If this is some sort of test, I will fail it. Gladly.
Some switch goes bad on my air conditioner - guys stops out and fixes this morning. (figure cost of cheap tonneau cover for my Silverado I could use)
Ninety minutes later he is back as it is RUNNING but there is no COLD AIR. Wife is getting food ready for 2 graduation parties and is madder than a wet hen.
Nothing like no air to make us all edgy today.
Looks like I'm going to miss my only chance to autocross this year, thanks to tire to fender clearance issues and no time to fix it. I was supposed to borrow a fender roller, but that fell through. Love cancelling registrations.
Job offer dilemma. Ain't ready to go back to work but I'm seein' $ signs.
Every car i buy i wind up undoing wiring butchery and ripping the entire interior out. Im currently contemplating pulling the dash out of the miata.....
And i turn in the company car this week. Nothing like a little added stress....
Four Roses tastes like some kind of cleaning fluid.
Found out I have to drop the transmission in the Dakota to (hopefully) reseat the clutch fork . . . Not a fun job.
While I laid under truck silently cussing . . . My neighbor's dad ran over the sprinkler head with the lawn mower . . . Berk
I packed it up and came in house.
My piece of E36 M3 laptop that Costco refused to back isn't even smart enough to recognize when something is plugged in to a USB port, other than my fancy GPS watch.
It'll send power to charge, but not actually communicate with things like gopros, phones, etc.
In reply to Ashyukun:
I have an Alfa for sale...
pneumonia, I has it. With my lack of using air condition at home or in the car, the fact that my overweight co-workers crank the air to forming frost on the walls, and 5 weeks of my sister and nieces getting up at 5 am, I was totally exhausted and worn out whenever I contracted the bug that got me sick.
Now I am coughing up a lung and need to wait till tomorrow to see my doc
