I'd think that if it wasn't such a high volume setting. At the basic level, it's a one off arduino board, that is extremely well documented. Not something I'm terribly familiar with, but not exactly rocket science these days. With a user base pushing 7 figures around the world, I can't be the only person having this problem, that in all honesty probably just requires more patience than I possess to solve.
Just seems like any time I have a problem with anything, I get the one in a million "that's not supposed to happen" problem, not the "item 2 in the frequently asked questions" problem.
I would think between the 50k member strong Facebook support group or the thingiverse forums(admittedly terrible to read) I'd get a better answer than "well that's berkeleyed up". Instead, people are arguing about brands of blue tape and asking what kind of voltage comes out of a standard US outlet(Because that's a good sign you should be playing with electronics at all). Reach out to the YouTube denizens who make decent money from teaching people how to use the printer, and they just go "umm..."
I don't know why I'm surprised, it's been like this the last 30 years for me, probably be like it for the next 30 as well.

I read a description of Chili Verde con Mesquite Cerdo Asado y Tomatillos and now my mouth is watering and I'm hungry. There is no Chili Verde con Mesquite Cerdo Asado y Tomatillos in the office, nor anywhere else around me for that matter. :(
After many e-mail and phone calls about my car and my needs, I purchased a Variloc differential for $1800 USD (for just the lsd) because the owner assured me that his product would work. I didn't have enough grip at our local events to reveal anything but as soon as I got to Lincoln, NE high grip concrete, it was evident that this diff was still allowing the inside tire to spin. After only 65 TOTAL minutes of use, I pulled it out and sent it back to Variloc. They told me it was trashed and needed $800 to fix it. I said it should be fixed under warranty but if they weren't going to fix it, send it back to me. That was in November, they will not respond to e-mail or phone calls and have not sent it back to me. Does anybody stand behind their product anymore? The owner told me that he has been selling these to NASCAR, INDYCAR and others for 25 years and it is a robust unit. So, my 350 hp, 1850 lb car tore it up in 65 minutes?
Here I am, completely surrounded by no Chili Verde con Mesquite Cerdo Asado y Tomatillos and no beer.
they went from forecasting up to 29 inches of snow to a forecast of 3 inches... im sad
So, the box I sent for the GRM Santa exchange apparently left the USPS distribution hub for delivery to its destination 40 miles away on January 1st and has been IN TRANSIT (per USPS) since then. I found this out last night. This isn't berkleying right, so I decide to call up USPS and see if I can get some answers. Call them up, and get the standard message that all their representatives are busy. Great, I get to sit on hold for who knows how long.
But wait- the system says that they have a callback system where they can call me back when there's a representative available so I don't have to just wait on the line. Wow, that's actually a smart way of doing things. Go through the process and put in my phone number and name and hang up to get back to work.
Not even a full minute after I've hung up, the phone rings from a number I don't recognize- it's the USPS system saying it will now connect me to my representative. Great! Transferring noises- and I get hold music- and eventually the message that all representatives are busy and to please hold on the line.
Thanks for nothing! I'd probably be less annoyed if I'd just had to wait on the line from the get-go, now I'm both annoyed at having to wait AND for having been given the false hope that I wouldn't have to sit here on hold waiting for someone to answer.
EDIT: Have now been sitting on the phone on hold for over 2 hours. I think they chose poorly in asking if I wanted to take a survey about my experience before putting me into the hold queue...
EDIT 2: Aaaand my phone dropped the call when I tried switching headphones so I could head out for lunch. Berk.
EDIT 3: FINALLY got through... total time spent waiting (first call and call back): over 3 hours. At least I've now got a case opened on the package and hopefully they'll track it down and it will find its way to its recipient...
Just figured I'd update here since I whined so much last week. The car was fixed, the culprit was a leaking coolant line to the turbo. Dealership needed to order the part, so they tossed me in a rental for the duration. My deposit finally came through on Monday too!
So my rant? I'm stuck working twelves when I want to be tearing up the back roads!

three hours for anything short of flying cross country is unacceptable.

I'm pretty sure that NASCAR uses Detroit Locker style "differentials".

Dear Bozo standing in line behind me, Stand frickin' still for 30 seconds, you are driving me nuts. Cripes, I've never seen anyone who wasn't 4 years old move around so much. Maybe next time don't drink a Red Bull before going to the DMV.
It amazes me how certain auto parts are CHEAP while others "appear" to be pretty ridiculously expensive. A couple of cheapo wiper blades and some little marker bulbs doesn't feel like $50 but apparently it is.

Is there any greater impediment to getting E36 M3 done than a boss who is in panic mode because they don't think E36 M3 is getting done?
My entire garage is literally soaked from condensation, and I mean EVERYTHING - the fridge, my toolbox, the plastic lawn chairs. My cars are literally dripping and the floor looks like it has been exposed to a summer downpour. Its crazy, never seen anything like this. Not even really ranting about it, I'm just amazed.
I guess this is what happens when the temperature is 60 degrees and humidity 100% and it's forecast to drop below freezing in a few hours.

Open all tool drawers and get a fan going over them. Mold loves greasy tool handles. Screwdrivers get hit hard, as well as pliers with textured rubber grips.
black hiking boots: i work in theater, I need to wear black. Why is it so hard to find comfortable hiking boots that are black? It's almost impossible to find ANY hiking boots in black. It probably does not help that I have unusually narrow feet too.
In reply to mad_machine :
Look into bates zip side boots. Freaking LOVE mine.
In reply to mad_machine :
I learned a long time ago that leather boots that aren't actually "leather" in color are garbage. I have had black boots that split and cracked in under a week.
+1 on just buying what works and spraying it black with whatever means.
I wish that it were so easy to just spray them. I am a corporate stage hand, that means while I do not have a "uniform" per say, I do have to look well put together so that I can be seen in public as I often cross the casino floor and need to be seen when setting up parties and such. The boots I have now are not leather, made by Lowa, there are very nice boots, but not made for the work I do. If I were scampering up and down trails all day, they would be great. Pounding cement and marble all day, they just make my feet ache
In reply to mad_machine :
Check out police and security supply companies like Galls or Quartermaster uniforms. Cops have a LOT of comfortable and durable black boot options.

Called about a truck this morning. Saw the ad was posted at 330pm yesterday afternoon.
"Oh we sold that 2 weeks ago"
Then why is the ad still up?
"You called didn't you?"
I did, and you didn't even try to put me into anything else, just told me it sold.
*Hangs up on me*
I don't even like to look at dealerships usually, this just reinforces that stance.

I've been wearing Original SWAT boots for the last 20 years or so. I get a new pair every 2-3 years and they just last and last. All black, made for dudes that need to be on their feet and moving all day every day. They're like a running shoe with a boot around them. Which reminds me that I'm about due for a new pair. http://originalswat.com
