Lol. Driving the SE-R more whilst I work on the SE brakes and the fuel gauge pegs way above full. I fill each vehicle up each time so maybe but then it starts fluctuating. Then the empty light goes on and off so for a laugh when it pegs full again I amuse myself by knuckle tapping the plastic and funny as hell the needle starts to move down. Again this seems not to be a rant. laugh

No, they are not.  Escape Hybrids are amazingly cheap for what you get.

I still want one, and only have stayed away because of my stronger disdain for all things truckly.  If only they'd put this drivetrain in a first generation Focus.

I seemed to have irritated somebody's penis extension last night. On the way out of AC on Rt 30 (the white horse pike) the road goes from three lanes to two. I squeaked by in the Abarth in the open lane that was closing and merged into traffic without so much as coming within 4 or 5 car lengths of the car behind me. A challenger I noticed earlier was stuck behind the slower cars in that lane as I made it off into the clear road ahead.

About a quarter of a mile later, he goes roaring by me full throttle only to get caught in the traffic that was bunch up ahead. To make the longish story short, I wound up right behind him at the light after the first exit, as soon as it turned green (we were both making a right on the arrow) he floors it and smokes the challenger into a power slide before taking off down the road.

Shame there had been no cops about, it was quite a bit of aggression just for being passed by a pipsqueak car.

Several people had the same response at work.

I say never attribute malice when incompetence is the easier path. I think they just got the fuzzy end of the lollipop on this one.

How the berkeley does that work?  Searching for old threads on facebook is worse than the GRM forums search.

It doesn't, but the kids doing it don’t know any better.

worse is the lack of desire by many to search outside of Facebook for solutions, they’d rather just ask for a spoon fed solution.  Guess what kids?  The 924 was first sold in 1976, I suspect there’s a solution to ANY problem you might have already posted in several threads on any number of message boards, etc.  let alone the actual factory manuals.

sigh, that’s just how the world works these days and it will only get worse before it gets better.

I shaved off my scraggly beard today. It was irritating me and it didn't look that good either. And what do I find? A double chin. I climb on the bathroom scale. 208lbs. Hmm... I've gained over 30 pounds since getting out of the military. Boy, it really kinda creeps up on you doesn't it?

Seeing my flabby neck region kinda freaked me out. It's difficult to accept what you look like when its different from your mind's eye.

I'm joining a gym tomorrow. Its only $35/month and its open 24 hours. Even if I just run on a treadmill for 30 minutes, it still more exercise than I have done since I was on active duty.

Shocked by how Geico is reacting to my quote request for depreciated Mercedes. A year or so ago, quoting a Viper to replace my current car  added something like $10 month over my current premiums. I quoted a few other cars, and everything was NBD.

They wouldn't quote a Maybach 57. Adding a CL63 AMG required a manual review, and the car alone is $1100 every 6 months.

I guess their models are built with a lot of weight on original MSRP. I'm going to have to shop around.

I went through the same thing with the Abarth. My Discovery was $144 a month for full coverage here in NJ. The Abarth was an additional $268 ontop of that to insure. That seems really high for a car that will hopefully never be driven in the rain and will never seen winter. NJ Manufacturer's, which I got through work's connections, gave me a bill just under $200 a month for both.

Local BMW store changed hands.  Was just 5 minutes from work, was easy to stop by for parts, warranty/recall service.  Now it's 30 minutes away, and in the opposite direction from home.

I hope they are worth something as we're likely to be trying to trade the Dancer's '08 Mariner in for something newer in the coming months. Though she could still decide she just wants to keep it for a while longer. I'm not sure which I think is wiser. I'll be slightly annoyed if she decides to keep it, as if she had made that decision before swapping the replacement engine in I would have done a bit more rehab work on the engine (specifically, pulled the heads and had them gone over)- which I may still have to do with the noise that appears to be coming from the valvetrain.

The Dancer's non-profit dance company's annual show was last Saturday. Probably 1/5 of each year is spent with her in some way or another working on this show with the month before it pretty much everything taking a back seat to preparations for and focus on the show. And it pays off- all four shows (and the two encores of two of them) have been spectacular and gotten rave reviews from the people who have attended. This most recent show was no exception-by pretty much every metric possible it was a great success and a step up from the previous year.

Every metric, that is, except for actual attendance. There were roughly 3/5 as many people who saw this show vs. the previous one, and it has her very frustrated and down in the dumps about it. Something like this happening has long been her biggest fear with the shows- so far we've only seen growing numbers, but this is the first step backward. And there's almost certainly not a magic bullet to correct it- there were dozens of reasons why people may not have come to the show, and many of them we can't do anything about.

And it sucks because the show was amazing.

I'm the only authorized user on the damn account! I'm the only NAME on the account! You make a useless cellphone app already, USE IT FOR 2 FACTOR AUTHENTICATION!! It's not that berkeleying hard, and all those bullE36 M3 fees you invent every month could fund it.

I thought anti-trust laws existed to STOP this monopolistic berkeley the customer bullE36 M3 and allow options to what corporation bends us over every month with imaginary fees and bandwidth lies. Tell me again how being the ONLY high speed internet provider ISN'T having a monopoly? Please, I'd really like to hear this explanation.

Citizens Fiber can't sue them for pole access fast enough.

It gets better. Went to the store today, again, completely useless.

"We wouldn't have a way to find where the password was changed from because they would have needed the email and passwords to change it"

you're a Goddamn ISP, can't you even scrounge up an IP address from a password change? Seems like access to my billing information and ability to change service packages is something your security department should be interested in. Or do you just not care about customer security at all?

I've also received 4 emails in my spam folder just like this from the time my Comcast password was changed. I'm not concerned for several reasons, the main being no one has ever actually used the Comcast email address, I just get system reports sent to my personal gmail. The other complete lack of concern is that my laptop hasn't been opened or used for any purpose in weeks. This is an old scam, but the timing is too coincidental. The password listed was also an old one of mine, not current on any accounts.

As a Comcast customer, I am beyond disappointed and pissed off about their handling of account security. Their suggestion to just open a new account is nowhere near good enough of a reply. I will be for my piece of mind, but this is ridiculous. Is there somewhere to call and bitch about this where something might actually happen?

You'll be slightly better off than me, as you'll likely have less rust and its a newer generation. But I got $1,500 out of a car with 99k miles and a nearly flawless interior. Granted, it had some mechanical issues that could/should eventually be addressed, but you wouldn't until you needed to. Because it is a $1,500 car, and doing the wheel bearings (ahead of schedule) and addressing the oil leak and possible head gasket leak would be a PITA to make the car worth $2,300.

I do think that they're one of the best bargains out there right now. If you need a serviceable vehicle and don't care about MPG, not a bad option.

Yeah- given that, it may have been wise to have missed it, one of the pieces may have been a bit too much.

And honestly, it's not so much a matter of people we know personally not being there (though the reasons why writ large may be a bit of a window into why more people on the whole weren't there) but more that it seems to be very difficult to get much interest or support for the organization here locally. She pointed out that only about 1/4 to 1/3 of their funding (I can't remember the exact number) comes from the area (Lexington-Fayette) that the organization primarily serves- the rest comes from either national grants and contributions or from one organization in Louisville. And she's of course very thankful for all of that- but it's just depressing that so very little (and even less this time around given the low ticket revenue) of the money spent on Allegro's work in the city actually comes from here and that there seems to be very little interest in the artistic side of what it has to offer.

She's seriously debating trying to work out taking a scaled-down version of the show back to her homoetown in WI, figuring the name recognition of her there plus the fact that there no snows remotely like it ever get performed there would make it far more successful there, and that possibly doing a small 'tour' around the region away from the larger metropolitan areas might do better.

I've seriously considered trying to find a low-mileage hybrid one a few years newer to replace this one- we know she can drive it easily (hard to find ones that someone 5' tall can drive comfortably) and other than the differences in the engines I'm familiar with working on them.
