About 11:00 this morning, I heard a P71 at WOT go by my office window, (a sound I know well), glanced up to see a gray command car, followed by a fully dress white one. A minute later, my neighborhood was crawling with cops. Road blocks at all intersections. Went out front to see what was going on, a blue Chevy pulls up to me, I tell him it's not a good place to block traffic with all the police activity. He flashes his badge, REAL UC's. Asked me if I had seen anybody running. No I had not. Then their attention was attracted by a tall young black man standing across the street. He got to assume the position and was patted down. Clean, free to go. This continued for over an hour. Cops EVERYWHERE!, driving fast, driving slow. Have no idea what it was all about, but must have been interesting. Maybe time to move.

In reply to cwh:
Yup, time to move. Houses are undervalued just a couple of hours north of you.

Couple hours southeast of me too. Pt. St. Lucie seems like the bargain area of Fla right now, though. Wifey doesn't really want to move to Trinidad, but I'm tempted.

Had a shoot out down the street from my house this afternoon. One dead two wounded. Never had that happen before. I supposedly live in the "good" part of town. I think it's just a sign of the times. People out of work have too much time on their hands and in some cases are desperate. That's a bad combination.

I had some excitement today as well... my dogs almost ate an FBI agent ... fortunately, i was able to reel them in before any damage was done. they (the FBI, not the pups) were doing some background field interviews on a neighbor, but should of known better than to cut across the lawn, the boys dont like people on their lawn... turned out to be nothing nefarious, neighbors trying to get a gubment job, but i think ive got an extra pilee of crap on the lawn that the dogs DIDNT leave...

Our local cop actually walked the downtown block last week.
