Kawasaki motorcycles from the seventies? And with that I am now a Dork. But trust me, in the real world I've been a dork since at least middle school.

Crappy rusty stuff you drag home is much like a girlfriend, it's personal, it's emotional, it's unjustifiable, it's unique and it's yours. You know what it is but you see the potential.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, it could be that your opinion of cool car crap is different than his.

Perhaps a better gift would be a hand made gift card redeemable for two nights of labor in the garage (of course you'll bring the wine).

Get into his head a little bit and you won't have to ask us, you'll be showing us.

Just so y'all know...I just found out that I'm the subject of this thread.

Laughing lots right now. More to come soon (to show that a lot of your suggestions were right-on and such)

My awesome Maggie (a name I like exponentially more than the phony screen name she came up with) made my day just by posting a thread here. She's in my head, alright ;)

Like...my car already doesn't have much paint on the hood (photo forthcoming)

I've already introduced her to the ways of soaking stuff in vinegar (in the kitchen, typically)

There are crankshafts that are rusty that can be stolen from my stash without my even realizing.

There aren't any autocrosse events nearby, but She comes out and participates in Back 40 activities with me : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5OcFcyLwDY&list=UUkQCyoKqfLkieBjkxMMvpjw&i...

    Good stuff...good stuff!

What do you get for the guy who has Maggie? Nothing...he's already got everything he needs!

You've got a little something on your nose. It looks brown.

Bragging is good when you have a keeper. Anyone who calls it something else is just brown with envy.

    Thanks, you guys came through!

you could get him a rusty Miata ....

Well, let's see...it used to be red, but most of the paint on the hood is gone already, so the whole grind the paint off the hood thing is no good. It has two doors and he loves it--but everyone else is like, "why do you have that?"

    Seriously, though a Mazda 323.

It has grown on me and get's great mileage.

I do believe you just coined something gross. Something Japanese-esque and hideous one gets or gives: "a Kawasaki". Now go fill out an Urban Dictionary entry and come tell us all what it is.

Every time I see the title of this thread I misread: "My boyfriend likes rusty carpets" - which sounds dirty.

(Maggie, if it's OK, I'd rather not refer to you as "Fleabag").

I didn't bother to open it until I noticed it is past v day and it still lives.

You guys suck at advice. The answer was "blow job".
