If this is considered a canoe, feel free to delete it.

I just won a free CD of The Kruger Brothers, and feel obligated to help spread the word about them. Unless you are into the bluegrass/folk scene, you probably have never heard of them. My brother and dad went to a bluegrass festival last year and saw them, got a CD, and ever since I have been hooked. This is probably my favorite music-On my Itunes, 7 of my top ten played songs are the Kruger Brothers, and all of the top 4. My favorite Christmas gift last year was their CD, which my girlfriend got for me.

They are a group from Switzerland who moved to North Carolina. Two brothers and a friend, a banjo, guitar, and acoustic bass. Probably the most talented banjoist I've ever heard. The banjo player orchestrated his original compositions to play with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. Classicalgrass. Very cool stuff. They have performed with Willie Nelson, Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Vince Gill, and others that I can't think of.

If you like bluegrass/country/folk/classical at all, take a look. If you like good music, with extremely talented musicians, take a look. Don't let the banjo scare you away either, its the smoothest, most un-annoying banjo, if you happen to find the instrument annoying.

    My favorite song

That is good stuff. I'll have to find the CD. Thanks!

However, the best picker ever, with anything with strings is still Roy Clark

    HOLY CRAP

I have seen fingers move as fast as that on a guitar/banjo/mandolin, but I have never seen a faster strumming hand in my life. WOW.

Jerry Reed is dead. And he'll still kick your ass.

    Witness "Lightning Rod."

The cool thing about Roy Clark is I've watched him break a string in the middle of a song and he just sings the notes he would have played on that string. He's great.

"Choices" seems like some very folk-y bluegrass. Really mellow. Not necessarily my speed, but it's certainly pleasant. Good for a chilly fall afternoon, no doubt.

This is about as much bluegrass as I'm into:

The man could flat out play.

I'd also give a nod to Roy Clark and Chet Atkins.
