I see Peter Gregg's old 916 every day at work. What do you guys think of it? I cant say I like it, but the rarity of it and the concept is pretty cool. It is the only 916 built by the factory for importation to the United States.

Peter Gregg be damned (sorry Gregg fans), but a 916 is just awesome. It's a 914/6 on steroids, acid, meth and has factory box-flares.

I've always felt the 914 body style was kinda homely.

    I stand corrected..

I thought that car belonged to George Hussey of Automobile Atlanta. IIRC it was the same silver car which was on the cover of the AA catalog.

I used to dream of making my 914 look like that, then I discovered what it would take to fabricate and install the steel roof.

    truth. unfortunately.

Right outside of my window sits the last 914-6, the most pristine example of a 914-6 in the world (won the Benson and Hedges concours 4 times and the Hilton Head concours a couple times too), the 916, a 914-6 Sportomatic, and TWO 914-6 GT's. Down the way a little is a 904 replica, the most pristine 914-4 in the world, and the Car And Driver import car of the year (it did the car show tour thing with a C and D logo on the side.)

And in front of those sits a row of used Porsches waiting to bring woe and misery to their new owners. I always thought it appropriate that AAs cars looked like they were contemplating suicide by jumping onto the street below.

Tell Reid I said "wasssup goomba!".
