One of my neighbors was involved in a hit and run totaling her vehicle in front of her house. Can you help identify the suspect vehicle based on the parts left at the scene?

Any stampings on the projector? And would it be possible to get the size of the pieces?

Any part numbers on any of the pieces?

The top right right piece looks similar a 2000's Grand Am

I was thinking the same but couldn't really come up with a match on an image search. It seems too small to be, and has too much "hatch" to be a headlight cover, so I'm thinking turn lens or part of a tail light assembly. the larger clear plastic piece in the bottom-center was probably the headlight cover.

In reply to bluej :

I agree, I"ve been googling images of Grand Am and Grand prix from various years and It's not the same.

My mind is telling me it's a Chrysler, but google isn't getting me there yet.

Yeah but wtf is the large and relatively flat clear piece that doesn't immediately jump out as a lens cover?

it does feel like something from the late 90's or early 00's

Also, the shape and size of the lens is making me think Hyundai or Kia but I can't quite place it.

I think pictures might help jog people's memory of "this car looks similar, let me look it up"

Early Tiburon seems close:

So do some parts of the Cavalier:

I feel like that lens is a fog lamp cover, and that in this pic it's upside-down from its installed orientation.  I think it's a left side part that would have the flat edge at the top, with the point toward the outside, similar to but not exactly like the pic below:

Im also thinking "what kind of car would a hit-and-runner drive?"

In reply to Javelin :

seems amazing that your neighbor's car was totalled and only these pieces were left from the suspect's vehicle. Must have been a tank!

Apologies if you've already thought of this, Jav, but are there any tiny DOT numbers (or even manufacturer part numbers) visible anywhere?  I'm thinking that the large piece in the top right of your picture would be a good candidate.

In reply to mad_machine :

the projector looks correct, but the lens cover is still a mystery.  Maybe was carried down the street from an earlier hit?

Got some more information. No numbers, but the round fog light says Germany on it and the witness describes the vehicle as an SUV or minivan.

I'm leaning Chrysler from the Daimler years, Pacifica?

Chrysler "RS" generation minivans looked like they could be a winner for the Town and Country in the early 00's, but I still don't think it's quite right.

Could you post another picture with something for scale to make it easier to see how big the parts are?

K, I'm stumped. There are only so many options that fit "german link" and "SUV/Minivan", and none of them appear to have fogs that match the form. I'm wondering if the german thing is a red herring and it's not a german brand (or daimler-chrysler) since the quality looks a little crappy for the german brands.

Aren't a lot of fog lamps (Hella) made in Germany, regardless of the make of vehicle?

Damn that sucks. The black "tab" thing almost looks like a headlight adjuster.

Adn I agree on the fog light, probably a "universal" projector bit.
