Last night, grandson came home from playing basketball with a dog. A classic "He followed me home, can I keep him?" I was furious! We have three already, including a very overactive 70 pound boxer. This one appears to be about 6 months old, part Pit, and has had a rough life. Bunch of healed scars on his neck and forequarters. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER DOG!!!! Unfortunately for me, this is the sweetest young dog I have ever seen. No aggression, will allow you to put your hand in his food dish while he is eating, very gentle with the rambunctious 4 year old kid, well socialized with the other dogs, although the dachshund is afraid of him. Seems to be housebroken. He has gotten into my heart already. Likes to lay on my feet. Arrgghh. We will try to find him a good home, but he is so sweet, I may not try too hard. The boxer and the yorkie should be gone, along with the stepdaughter, within the month, so there will be some more room. Wife does not really want a big dog, and this one will probably get up to 65-75 pounds when grown. I like a bigger dog. Seems like he was dropped off, possibly by a fighting dog trainer. Since he has no aggressive behaviors, unacceptable as a fighter. I am certain that we saved his life, and he seems to feel the same way. Rescue dog, eh? What say you, my friends?

That's amazing. How does one play basketball with a dog?
I would find a pit rescue and talk to them about help placing the dog in a suitable home. -

Don't leave him alone with the other dogs for a while. Just in case. I'm an animal lover. I'd be in the same situation. As soon as we move to a larger house, were adopting husky.

"Get rid of E36 M3ty non dog (yorkie) and cocaine laced boxer AND stepdaughter. Replace with said mutt. Deal? " Why, yes, an extremely good idea. Why haven't I thought of that myself? (Sarcasm smiley) Actually, the Yorky is the best of the bunch, the only one I have ever liked. Cocaine laced is a very good description of the boxer.

No pictures of said dog?
Sounds like a great dog. I would love a dog like that but I can't get a dog until the summer when my living arrangements change.

Hey, just a good excuse to come to Ft. Lauderdale in the middle of winter!! However, he now has a name, and you know what that means. Rex. Unusual for a pit mix as he has his tail and ears, not cut. Much prettier this way. (Pretty?)

I have a Pit/Lab rescue. Best dog I have ever had. That guy looks like he will be a real sweetheart, although he may have some Rhodesian in there as well. That mean he will be strong as an Ox and about as smart.

I'm not terribly accurate in identifying dog breeds. The picture you posted looks like a "dog", to me. If the ears and tail were cut, in traditional fighter dog style, the uneducated would assume he's a viscious killer. -

Well, he has decided to be a lap dog. Jumps up on me in my recliner while I watch TV. A real lover. Arrgghh. Another fun fact- the boxer BITCH will probably come into season soon. So, if he is to stay here, we will have to get him neutered soon.

As a recently minted greyhound expert, there's no greyhound in there (though some people argue that Ridgebacks are sighthounds).
Cute dog though.
