The local paper back in PA runs a column where they reprint news stories from 25, 50, and 100 years ago. The ones from 100 years ago read like that.
This add was on the newspaper web page when I read the story. The picture probably explains more than all the written words ever could.
My step-father was a Kentucky hillbilly. Interesting to get him yarning about growing up there. Even more interesting going there. The movie Deliverance was in fact a documentary.
Hey, Deliverance was set in TN and/or AL IIRC.
The Herald-Leader is probably the second largest paper in the state.
The far eastern part of the state can be "interesting," but most Kentuckians are as normal as I'd want them to be.
Other KY weirdness:
They elected a dog as mayor of the town Rabbit Hatch.
